Oh im sorry, I must be just imagining all those Ground battles, Convoys, regular bases, and ships that i have been striking then.

I can wipe out 75% of vehicles in a ground assault by myself with 10 jdams on the Av-8na…

Convoys are likely to be ko’d by one player now since they self destruct if there is only 3 vehicles left.

Typically one plane can kill 2 bases.

So of the 6-8 bases (which take forever to respawn, if they even do with how buggy they are).
And the 1-3 convoys
Then the 1-2 ground assaults, your maybe looking at 4 of 8 of your team ground striking, likely 3, meaning the rest are all going to fight over those objectives or do air to air combat.

They didn’t even buff the rewards, and, this is beginning to align with what happened to heli pve. Where it became progressively worse, and now everyone has to fight over objectives and someone loses out regardless.

It’s a bad system, having it the way it was with airfields being targets as well spread out the bombers on the team, leaving the 3-4 usual fighters to fighting and the rest not having to strongly compete for rewards.

Holy incompetence batman. You act as if AF’s arent still targets. They are, just that now they arent braindead targets. Especially in anything with guided weapons. Hell, grab a friend, one pylon of JDAM’s and you can take out all the AA and then go for a close in strike.

Just because the game isnt letting you full braindead abuse the gamemode, doesnt mean its a bad change.

ALL small maps should have 5 minibases. We already have 4 small maps like this, why not all?? **

ALL large maps need more bases. 8-10 would be good. If you consider a large map is actually the size of FOUR small maps they could give them 20 bases and it would have the same density.

The airfield AA respawns btw. So by the time your slower friends arrive they get whacked outta sky again.

Imagine if people would actually coordinate.

Imagine a strike package with some aircraft attacking a bases defenses, closefy followed by a strike package going for a bases infrastructure.

But as every player works solely for himself, or maybe a squad at the best of circumstances, coordinated attacks won’t ever happen.

They would be fun and interesting though…

Its as if you lot are doing your hardest to not even think about it for half a second. AI respawns before your bombers get there? Maybe you should destroy the targets a little later…

They could implement voice chat for SB. Not just for Squads,but for the whole team. Especially when i play in VR the last thing i do is locking at the chat all the time.

I think it would have to be pre-coordinated anyway, ad hoc won’t work: Get a team together, communicate via discord, enter a match together, hammer an enemy airbase.

This obviously would not be a grinding method, but could be a very interesting way to play Sim EC.

Just picture it:

  • 2-4x Buccaneer S.2B to eliminate enemy Air Defense
  • 2-4x F-111 to bomb the Airbase
  • 2-4x F-4E fighter escort

So a group of 6-12 willing players to get this working… Tricky…

As a “minimum initiative”, 1 or better 2 players strike enemy air defense, and communicate this to the team so some players may jump on the wagon ad-hoc and engage that base. This could then motivate more to do the same…

Oh, question to the hive mind: Do we know how fast airbase defenses respawn after destruction?

(Default, without damaged living quarters which would increase repair time…)

Idk,would have to get rid of my year chatban for that first. So cant really do that. Also it wont ever happen cause the rewards would be low or non existing for half of the players,like killing the SPAA gives barely any score.

Well, maybe, if people try to play for fun instead of for rewards.

Rewards are main reason people play game,they wanna get their new shiny toy in 10h not 30h. Its what Gaijin tries to monetize the most,selling high tier premiums so people can either play their fav thing earlier like prem Hornet/Abrams before they grind to the TT one or to grind something else with it.

Its the FOMO aspect and wanting to reach end of the game which is top tier as fast as possible to play with their friends who started earlier.

What rewards? Gaijin are too cheap to even give us the full reward from a Useful Action shown on the stat card :(

I’m speaking generaly about a better communication method. Not just for base striking.
VC would be nice for most situation. Most players use the “Follow Me” quick chat for mark their location and others use the “On me” for the same reason/asking for help.
Sadly the “On me” command serves as a location marker for most players and high % of other players don’t react to it.

In the middle of a DF no one types out what they are fighting or more specific stuff like their own/enemy position. And around 11.0 and below most planes can’t ID other planes with their radar if the fight takes place at low altittude.

It happened yesterday when i played with the Su25K and an US F4E/German F4F were fighting each other. Even tho i knew that we have an F4,but still managed to hit my teammate with an R60 and later the enemy F4 with cannons.

Of course. Both ground and air events. Now ground conquests appear regularly and even counterattack. But there’s not much point in doing them, because you need a MiG-31 to intercept bombers, and instead of ground events it’s easier to just go and bomb the ITOs at the airfield. By the way, on airfields with three SAM launchers, the one closest to the enemy somehow counts twice. So the F-111F is the new zombing meta.

The developers should’ve introduced earlier ally marker appearance in high-tier SB. Especially since, out of greed, they stuffed a bunch of identical premium aircraft into different nations.
