@mrr0
I don’t think that’s how datalink works.
Go read stepanovich’s post on datalink functionality in War Thunder.

Y’all are arguing against me for having literally no takes on this issue other than datalink is incorrect in War Thunder.

So unless you have proof that datalink is accurate, you’re not refuting any of my positions.

He is talking about a completely different missile type in the posts you shared

Fox-1 datalink works completely differently ingame compared to Fox-3s
You do not understand how this works at all do you

totally not datalinking the r27er here right @AlvisWisla

This is how datalink works for Fox-1s

it lets you relock any target you want even if they’re outside the missile’s seeker and the missile will go for them

Unlike for Fox-1s without datalink where the target needs to still be inside the missile’s seeker for it to work.

That’s how it has worked for Fox-1 missiles in war thunder for years

@AlvisWisla

fox1 without DL cant relock at all even on the same target unless its done extremely fast after losing lock which may or may not be a bug

Incorrect, I frequently relock AIM-7s onto targets that briefly notch my radar

Perhaps datalink should work differently, but the datalink for SAHR in game is very happy to accept relocks. This is very easily demonstrated in game in a way that cannot be explained by normal SAHR target switching.

nah, you have a good bit of time

According to stepanovich’s most recent post on datalink, no.
Again, this isn’t my claim so I’m unsure why you’re arguing against a messenger.

If things changed, demand an update on information.

Switching targets is however something I’ve done on AIM-7Fs and R-27s alike.

You literally read it.

Yeah i don’t even do it extremely fast. You don’t have to do it extremely fast

Sparrow will detonate very quickly after losing lock, so does every other SARH non DL that I know of

he was talking about Fox-3s
Not Fox-1s

Like we already said

Datalink works very differently for Fox-1s than for Fox-3s
What you’re sending is completely irrelevant to Fox-1 mechanics

3 - 5 seconds is the self-detonation time.

chap just typing whatever
