Because that was one of the first times it happened. This is now expected behavior from the AIM-7Ms.

Thing is it’s not a just a fluke, this is expected Sparrow behavior at this point. I have other clips but they’re too large to share here.

For every clip you provide of them doing this, I can provide 50 of them refusing to relock because they lost lock for 3 seconds

There probably is a better reason behind why they missed than just sparrows being dumb

I don’t know what to tell you then. They reliably relock targets for me, maybe you just aren’t doing it right? It’s a little particular. Probably what happened is the Sparrow flew at such an angle the target was outside the Sparrow’s SRC cone/sidelobes, so it didn’t find anything to track and kept flying dumb.

I’m purely questioning the explanation for your experiences because of explanations given by others in the past.
