The dev server changelog, which the datamine corroborated.
Is there any substantive proof behind why they were altering what was identifiable, let alone grouping things as they were?
Considering it is known that many post Vietnam RWRs & modernization efforts (that begin to apear at ~10.7 or so) use modular / digital architecture and very extensive “threat libraries” so would be updated to keep on top of current threats. It was even worse due to the fact that introduction date is not considered when balancing since its often the ancillary electronics that get significantly improved over time so having to fight opponents that can be decades newer puts them at a significant disadvantage.
What aircraft in US service today would have F-4D, Mirage F-1, Mig-21, etc in its RWR table?
That’s the real question.
What proof is there that USA retained obsolete weapon systems in their RWR tables…
Those that operate in areas where those aircraft are still in service? (e.g. Iran / Turkey / Iraq / Africa, etc.) Since they could need to perform deconfliction / identification, its not as if they would get rid of entries even if there was absolute proof that no flying examples remained, since they may become relevant at some point in the future for a variety of reasons.
You do know that there are still flying examples of each of said aircraft you mentioned in active service with some nations, right?
F-4D & older aren’t flying for any country.
F-4E is listed on RWRs in-game.
Mig-21 radar missile support is defunct, and is listed on RWRs.
Mirage F-1 radar missile support is defunct, with Iran only using them for ground attack now.
So yeah, neither of those two are flying with radar missiles.
You do get that even without missiles the radar would still exist and be a bad thing to just forget about, and even then the airframes impacted by the change to the RWR changes would not have had to consider them, take for example the F-14B, which at least post dates ~'98 or so (JDAM implementation).
When did Iran retire them?
huh?
Iran is still flying multiple squadrons of the F-4E so…?
Gabon and Congo are also still flying the Mirage F1 with missiles?
Why would the US straight up delete known threat categories when the settings can simply be kept on a hard drive somewhere in the Pentagon then pushed to the fleet RWR if needed?
Not only that but War Thunder is happening over a wide range of years. It’s not set in a specific year so the RWR library in-game has to accommodate for that. Your point would hold a modicum of weight if the game was hard set in 2024, but it’s not.
Wouldn’t the default assumption be that things like this would be kept, not erased? Since we log and keep info on everything, it would appear to me the reasonable assumption would be that these things are kept.
To me, the burden of proof would seemingly be on you to prove that they were deleted, not that they need to be proved they were kept. If that’s somewhere on this thread my b.
That is not how burden of proof works.
I made no claims, let alone positive claims, I set the boundaries for evidence required that things are retained and that’s it.
The positive claim is that the current revision of database for RWRs includes these non-PD radars.
The negative claim is that Gaijin is correct.
And my statement is that we need evidence to determine who is correct as I made neither of those claims.
You can’t prove a negative.
That’s the point. A negative claim is status quo, a positive claim has burden of proof, and my statement is neither of those.
by this logic how f15E needs a 229 engine instead of 220 despite already being the best fighter in the game due to aim120s being cracked?
F-15JM is already the best fighter in the game, F-15E/I are slightly worse in everything else due to the speed boost.
Yes, Iran is. However, I wasn’t speaking about F-4Es I was speaking about F-4Ds and didn’t realize the typo until now. Post is updated with a fact about the F-4E in War Thunder as well.
F-4E is identified in War Thunder on modern RWRs.
So is Mig-21 despite its radar missiles being defunct IRL.
@Stockholm_Blend
Your post is abusive behavior toward someone that made a typo mistake, acknowledged it, and fixed it.
Attacking someone for exaggerating countermeasure count usefulness isn’t a fun experience to read.
I am here to learn and help, nothing more.
I made a mistake in my typing and it would’ve been far better if you started with “Did you mean to type F-4E? Cause it’s in service.”
I removed all the unintentionally combative language.
TL;DR:
I typed “F-4E” when saying out loud “F-4D” and didn’t proof-read my post like a dingus; a typing mistake.
I’m not a perfect being, I’m just man. I get tired, I voice my statements as I type them.
Sorry for the typo, mistakes happen and we should best just acknowledge it happened and move on.
Well, As a joke, Can’t wait for the moment when will USA have Achilles and Sherman Firefly.
“Shermans and Wolverines are American-made tanks, Brit just modified them with 17pdr. so they are from American origin. so we need to have Firefly and Achilles too. We already have Skinks as this theory. so why not?”
As a Britain main which has Tornado GR.1 with a worse engine than counterparts (GR.1’s RB199 Mk.101 provides weaker thrust compared to RB199 Mk103 which are mounted IDS counterparts.)
it might be sucks for American main users when F-15E has a weaker engine than F-15I counterparts. I understood their worrying which they had before.
Still, sometimes… some of the US mains act like a nitty child who can’t admit they are weaker than other countries in every single point, and claim “USA WEAKEST IN WAR THUNDER!”
when it happens, it is annoying. and thinks Gaijin is biasing USA-USSR when Gaijin’s act goes as fast as lighting.
especially when the F-15C Baz Meshupar took 3 months for better radar or the French B-26C stuck at 4.7BR with the same spec as the American B-26B[4.3BR]
Thanks.
He successfully floored him, lol.
Kinda deserved, armchair has a well documented victim complex.
Props to @tripod2008.
let them cope. drink their tears.
what does this have to do with american mains? gaijin does the same thing for other nations. Look at the japanese Ho ri and the ferdinand the ho ri is inferior to the ferdinand and the ho ri is at a higher BR when its based off of the Ferdinand designs.
