The tomcat in 2025 fights eurofighters and rafales SU-30sm Su33s. It is not competitive compared to any of these planes at all. Any buffs to it that we tried to send through for it have been ignored by gaijin.
Any BR decrease has also been ignored because of half the player base cannot get it through there skull the AIM-54C is a early gen fox-3 and is BAD like so incredibly bad In current meta its nothing more than a paper weight. Gaijin also straight up skipping the D model tomcat as well is crazy and going straight to the F18 is insane. not to mention every other 13.0 got the maneuver button but it even though it had it historically
so one of three things must happen 1 F14B is removed from game and goes to the wayside 2 F14B is lowered to 12.7, 3 it gets aim9M and dual plane maneuverability for AIM54C and gets A radar BUFF to comparable to F15A radar And gets maneuverability button
tomcat has been feeling it for awhile its hasnt been the most compeitive in a while in the 13.0 bracket everyone else got aim-9Ms and tomcats still waiting for them its best missile is the 9L
theres like countless planes in the game that get slammed in uptiers, and the f14b is just another to the collection, this isnt a phenomenon exclusive to it
id beg to differ with the existence of the sea harrier fa2, thai f16mlu and especially the italian f16a (is supposed to have amraams & has yet to receive them)
sure they do fine in downtiers but at their own br where they are mediocre at best
introduction dates rarely matter to gaijin, the harrier gr7 for example was like mid 2000s and was introduced back when the top fighters were still in the 70s
F-14B going to F-14D specification would make F-14D a chronic sidegrade and less people would go for it.
Also the worst 13.0 remains Sea Harrier and F-14A IRIAF.
