Gaijin will do it more likely than moving F-14B, especially when they likely have plans for F-14D.
F14D would still be better not a side grade it gets upgraded radar compared to B model and IRST with AIM-54C eccm sealed with Aim-7P sparrows and maybe aim-120 but not 100% sure on that last piece

IRST is a gimmick, and the better radar would only help with AIM-7s, not AIM-54s, unless Gaijin changes how ARHMs work.

gaijins probably never gonna add the D model tomcat unless topgun 3 comes out not to mention suggestion mods refuse to give it any breathing room at its br when everything was getting the manuverability button a suggestion for tomcat was made in bug report completely thrown in the trash and marked as not a bug now basically everything out does tomcat in dogfights to
It is really hard to say D model can be sidegrade of B model unless you ignore many things such as AIM-54C+, AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed, decent radar, AIM-7Ps, AIM-9M-8(hopefully). IRST are quite useful if you play sim.
B model also has a few missing things, except for the AIM-54 buff, but those are only the Sparrowhawk HUD and the additional CM launcher at Station 3/6, which do not affect the BR.
The only Tomcat that can be implemented in the game at this time and could be a sidegrade is literally the F-14A late(GR-135 late), which is basically F-14B with TF-30s.

HMD was installed only on early-mid A models, and even then only for a few tests, just like F-4J/F-4S.

they are in terms of tracking and notching, because they have datalink.
not if you are using brain, iff with radar and then keep the lock on irst, but still, most of the times its just better to stay in tws lock instead of irst

I agree though F-14B (Late) to bring it into line with Su-33

honestly gaijin should add the late A model to so we can get the early A model with irst and stuff

AIM-9M we have (probably AIM-9M-7) and AIM-9M-8 are pure upgrades as they have different seekers.
Probably the AIM-9M-8/10 may come at some stage when the Super Hornet comes, but who knows.

we tried getting aim7p to F14B but it didnt have data link so gaijin said no because you be reasearching same missile twice but then they add F18 with aim7F and aim7M which is identical so idk
Unfortunately, the F-14B we have is most likely a “late model” because it has JDAM loadouts.
Originally, JDAM could not be used on a regular F-14B (aka F-14A+), but Gaijin ignored my bug report and added JDAM.
so it should get 9M to be comparable to su33 the report was accpeted but still hasnt been added its the only report out of 20+ to be accepted
