its funny because people will complain about everything, the whole point of the F-14 is to fire beyond the horizon hence BVR, but people dont like that, so then people believe something needs to be nerfed, because its somewhat decent at the job it was meant to do. they complain because they want an easier time. and to clarify the F-14’s Pheonix’s are only Decent. Both the variants of the Pheonix have stats that it can’t really reach. Things like extremely high drag, lower than real life max g turn, being extremely sluggish off the rails, the lack of a low vis trail from the 54C’s, and more.
Which reminds me of this:
“like a prophet” I foresaw a problem that was completely obvious, but at first it wasn’t obvious enough to gaijin.
and at the time I wasn’t even counting it as a fakour buff…

If aircraft at 13.0 like the F-15, Mirage 4000 and etc reliably got downtiers against the F-14 event plane spam, it’d be more managable.
There was a period of about a week where that happened, and I farmed many many many fakour 90 spammers. The terrible AWG-9 can be notched without losing lock on the F-14, so I don’t even need to deal with their missiles going for me. I’ll disappear off their radar and the missile goes stupid, but still guide my missiles to them.
Even then, it’s literally just the Fakour 90 that makes them good. Turns out a missile that accelerates super fast is insanely strong.

Not a good way of looking at it. At max, there’s 4 of them. And most of the time, it’s 1 or 2.
