F14 It's too strong for the current BR(12.3-12.7)

Quite simply the f14 is the most dominant plane in this BR range, planes like F4s, mirage F1C, F20, mig 21/j7, tornado f3 and adv, F4EJ kai, migare 2000 C and D-R1,JA37D, JH7A and Kunass 2000 has low chances against f14 A/B.
The planes that can deal with them better, but still with difficulty, are Mirage 2000c-S5/S4, Mig 21 bison and Yak 141, the others are obliterated by the rains of aim 54 phoenix.
When less than 2 f14 is easy to notch missiles the problem is when there are 4 or more on the other side, Flying low doesn’t work very well against the aim54 they are very big missiles with a very big war head they damage and shoot you down even if you hit the ground.
the planes that can handle f14 such as mirages 2000C, yak 141, mig 29 (9.12-9.13) and f16A (USA), still take outrange and have half the loadout of the f14A (with the exception of the f16 and the mig 29 which have 6 missiles ).
Not to mention that the muiltpathing change and aim54’s latest buff (pre seek and destroy) make them very strong.
The ideal would be to either revert these aim54 buffs or increase F14A 12.7 and F14B to 13.0.
even more so now with everyone having access to f14 through the event.

Yeah, I agree with these statements. When US on the other team only it is almost guaranteed defeat. Even worse this situation becomes with jets that have crappy RWR that forced to play against them

It does have 2 good missiles and 4 bs ones.

exactly, the mirage FC1 is one of the best examples of this, its RWR is rubbish, your hand can be exactly 90° to the missile and you die, even if you are flying low, the detonation of the missile on the ground takes you with it
I played several games against USA only or when it wasn’t USA, Italy and Brits, playing with Mirage 2000C, the f14 and AV-8B+ simply evaporated half of the team or forced you to play defensively the entire game.

Meanwhile finnish draken with no RWR:

I was destroying them in Sim the other day in the Tornado F3, actually kinda felt a bit bad. :D

F-14’s AIM-7s are seen at 12.0, and its AIM-9G/H is also seen at 12.0.
It’s 12.3 because of its slightly improved airframe over F-4J.
And F-14B’s equivalents are all 12.7 and 12.3 as well.
F-20 is one of F-14B’s equivalent.
Tornado F3 is a non-dogfight F-14A with 9Ls instead of 9Gs, and Skyflash instead of AIM-7F, and it’s 12.0 instead.

AIM-54 is a skillcheck missile.

Are all infinitely superior to F-14A and Tornado F3.
And F-14B lacks the all-aspect PD radars of most of those aircraft.

AIM-54 hasn’t been buffed in well over a year.

in a 1v1 scenario with an aircraft that has a decent rwr and you’re the only one defending yourself, just noch.
the problem that 80% of the aircraft the f14 faces do not have a decent rwr, and in 16v16 matches there won’t be just one f14, it’s a rain of aim 54, noching all aim54s without an rwr that allows you to do that, it’s not a skillchecker, it’s just spawning phoenix until you eventually reach the target.

these planes are superior at close range, in BVR combat the f14 has all the advantage in the world against its opponent, because in comabt bvr the f14 can break the lock and defend itself, the rest cannot.
This plane has been problematic since launch ( in Danger Zone update ) and eventually it causes balancing problems again.

IIRC, Fin AoA or something else was buffed in few month ago.

With these changes, the time to extract maximum G immediately after launching is shorter than before.

All I do when I hear launch warning is turn over 90 degrees, chaff a bit, and terrain follow.
I haven’t died to an AIM-54 since my intentional death to one to see what’d happen to my plane when Tornado MFG was first available to use.

F-14A was never a problem to anyone that knew how to defeat radar missiles, which YouTube videos existed on the subject since before War Thunder got them.

They were corrected to the amount of maneuverability I thought they were at the entire time… heh.
Then again, I’ve been using doctrine tactics learned from my DCS playing since F-14 was first introduced in War Thunder.

This is just a compression issue; the game still needs to decompress from 11.0 to 13.3.

You forgot the mention the flight model of the F-14 being underestimated. The plane is insanely maneuverable for such a large aircraft when the wings come out and the combat flaps on.

Only if the F-14A gets AIM-9Ls and the F-14B gets AIM-9Ms, fair?

A tip for the AIM-54 that I use in the F1C (I use it a lot) is to fly in a horizontal loop (giant circle if you’re looking straight down on the plane) while chaffing every 0.5 seconds until I’m cold and than again when I’m hot on the other side. In my experience it has worked every single time but it’s probably not 100 percent reliable.

I’m not a genius with planes, I think I’ve died very rarely from the F-14’s AIM-54s, the point is not to fly in the center of the map, I spread out a lot in the meantime I wait for the F-14s to unload some missiles on the others then I go into action just an hour ago with the Tornado F3 in one match I shot down two F-14s with the SuperTEMPs.

How about jets without RWR an even better example of this rubbish BR decompression gaijin didn’t bother really thinking about?

The other team being full of them also allows the US team to gain a massive advantage, since many players would be forced into a defensive state, while the US team can stay fully on the offence. And the planes who don’t defend either die from an Aim-54, or get forced into a 1v4+ matchup.

But F-14A Early from 1977 before AIM-9L produced 1 year

Change short-range Air-to-Air missile stock, 2x AIM-9L replace with AIM-9M

AIM-9M replace 2x AIM-9L & 4x AIM-9L. and could add AIM-9M-8

It received 9L upgrades though
