because they removed r73
To compensate for removal of R-73s. 12.7 MiG-29s would be perfectly fine without ERs if they got R-73+R-27R.

Change the BR spread from 1.0+/- to 0.7+/-. Problem fixed. As well as 85% of the BR issues across the board.
First they released it with R-27R , which was crap because it underperformed heavily and wasn’t based on realistic data/info . So they gave it ER as a solution but didn’t give it R-73 . The problem is that they fixed R-27R -now performs well, they didn’t took back ER which it never had and didn’t add R-73 which it could carry.
So if you make the change, add 9M to F-16A ADF you have pretty much equivalents… same with F/A-18A (assuming it stays with 9L so you have a better in BVR worse in WVR scenario, if you give it 9M to equalize the build/timeframe it’s 0.3 higher for the F/A-18A) . With F/A-18C Early, give it 9M and toss it to 13.0 .
It’s or this or decompression i don’t mind which. Though your solution is permanent and for all tiers and decompression if not done right may result in a hit and miss if you don’t change the majority of planes’ BRs.
Also, a very basic problem with the game is that they don’t bring equivalent builds and try to cook up things on their own or mixing things too much.
I gave one example with F-16/18 and MiG 29.
There are many of these in the game.
Also , since mixed nation MM , it doesn’t matter what nation you play for the most part… The game doesn’t use the RL Air Force’s doctrines and combinations anyway , so they might be games that a plane may fit better and game’s that can be worse. Now combine it it with the MM compression/spread over tiering/under tiering and it’s very clear why end up in those arguments and discussions.
My problem with the community is they all try to make a thing that doesn’t work (current MM) to work by picking a plane and start calling from uptiers and downtiers…
If the spread isn’t lower or decompression happens AND/OR make use of equivalent builds for the planes (for weapons/systems etc) … we can end up in the same exactly discussion about every plane .
Ex. Don’t tell me F-15A is balanced , because against 12.0s it’s just too powerful. Against 14.0s is garbage.
MiG 23MLD , same story… against 10.7s (and even 11.0s and 11.3s) is just too much …against 12,7 is nothing .
It’s a general issue and i can’t understand why people fail to see it.
For the “olders” in the game we had the same issues with props …
Would much rather see F/A-18A get AIM-7Ps and go to 12.7 together with C early. Extra pair of Sparrows, while objectively means upgrade, IMO wouldnt warrant a BR difference since rest of the kit is the same AFAIK.
Yes , i can agree.They can play in the same BR if they have the same tools .
In general i don’t like the idea of AIM-7P(remium) to be a premium weapon.
Because you won’t really play them at 14.0 with F/A-18C TT , except maybe as a filler to grind AIM-120.
And i’m pretty sure that they will give 7P to F-14D when it comes , but there you’ll have AIM-54C+ so i don’t think that in a BVR heavy scenario (13,7-14.0) you’ll bring 7P as well if not for filler till you grind your best missile.
So that remains the main missile for a premium plane…
You can give the missile to 18A as a TT 18C equivalent and as an upgrade on 14B which will be an upgrade and fit their BR (with making 18A 12,7) .

that would just be a better jet, not equivalent.Gaijin doesn’t even give 9Ls south of 12.0 for any fighter
in a just game it would mean a br increase, but not this one

I feel its issue with compression. Yes logically objectively better version of the same aircraft, even if its better only by slight margin, should be higher.
But currently, as things are set up, 18C early isnt 13.0 material.
