Regardless, stuff at that rating shouldn’t be facing the F18 on a 1:1 rating. Whether you like the mig 23 or not, it is shafted by this addition, and it is one of the better options at the rating. There will always be an option at the upper end of a rating, Mig 23’s about where it can be in the current compression, and does not warrant ignoring the number of other aircraft shafted by this implementation (host of harriers, host of tornadoes from multiple trees, several Russian attackers).
The F18 in question should have been 12.7 if they aren’t going to do something about compression and the sorry state it leaves the game in.

I agree the F-18 should have been 12.7. But the focus should be on the F-18 being too low and not that the Mig-23MLD is in some way suffering more than anyone else. Its probably suffering the least out of a lot of 11.3/11.7 aircraft that are being dragged up into the premium spam at the moment.
It gets the best flight-model F-18, and has access to MRAAMs.

I highlighted it is shafted by this addition, but even if we think it isn’t shafted that badly, there’s a whole list of things that are and should probably be more the center of discourse (tornadoes, harriers, attackers in general at the rating). So the principle of the F18 being too low is correct, even if we disagree with their example.

Your problem is not the BR of F/A-18A, it is the BR compression. MLD (or any other 11.3/11.7 for that matter) cannot really go down any further simply for the fact that it will bully 10.3/10.7 even harder than F/A-18A. They need to increase BR ceiling and narrow matchmaker BR range from 1.0 to 0.7 otherwise you’ll face this issue one way or the other.

It’s not any one plane. Compression is really bad for jets. Only naval is worse
It’s a standard move. Top premiums destroy balance because they are OP or players are bots and leave after the first death.
MICA-EMs are AIM-120Bs with thrust vectoring, France is the most OP nation in-game, at least before the Su-30SM

You’re opinion on the FGR.2/FG.1 seems way understated. When I played the FGR.2 during the ML/MLD’s prenerf state, I was beating them in almost every scenario outside of instantaneous turn rate.
They couldn’t out rate the FGR.2 if you forced them into an energy fight and sometimes even a flat out turn fight if it was done correctly.
The FGR.2 is one of, if not the best phantom to dogfight with as it doesn’t have problems other phantoms have which is energy retention and thrust.
The Skyflash DF is also a really good missile but most try to use it for BVR, it’s actually intended use is for close range (1.2-6km) launches and getting them in great offensive scenarios.
But if you have any form of evidence to back up that the FGR.2 is one of the worst phantoms in the game, by all means, do tell me.
