It’s unironically an F-5A with a jettison button. Its one primary purpose was to bombard enemy troops fighting with 1940s equipment with enough explosive mass at once to kill a village. Whether or not it was one of 650 F-5As that had ALE-40 or 1 of 12 F-5Cs that had it, both airframes are capable of mounting it with one being a VERY common occurrence around the world.
The standard at which modifications and balancing factors of aircraft are added to the game isn’t based on namesake alone. A sizeable chunk of US F-5As had the jettison button introduced in 1970, giving it exactly what the F-5C sought to have.

I’m not defending the F-5C? It’s a terrible plane that deserved 10.7, the J-35XS coming down as well is more than welcome.

I was midway though typing out something about the RB-28 and than realized I might have had it confused with a different missile so I wanted to double check and had to delete it.

except XS doesn’t need downtiering. it need to be fixed and have it’s armament suite completed.
Plus there’s one thing that makes F-5C very OP, is the fact that the plane just refuses to get locked by IR seeker, this on top of it’s ridiculous FM, easy control and easy to learn cannon just makes it infinitely better than anything in the market.

Ok considering you liked this post here’s what I was going to say:
RB-28s could be a quality addition if they had a longer burn time and more fuel. It would essentially just be a fat AIM-9P-4 with a little less range. All aspect capabilities are certainly a good thing and can be useful but the flight performance of the J35 would be very impacted when they’re carried and they would be very situational due to the guidance delay.
I’m not 100% if the Swedes modified the guidance delay or motor, if they did than please do tell.
It is a web page for a relatively obscure game so you can’t expect the best servers at all times I suppose

It does? Its armament is laughably bad, having only a slightly useable 30x111mm cannon (disgusting in itself), and its overall flight performance is lackluster at best. It’s on-par with the F-8E in most respects, even having less thrust and FAR more drag. Its only upside is 2 more (slightly) better missiles, and all it gets in return is 5x less CMs.
In what world should it be facing 12.0s to begin with? The fact that it has to face the A-10C is bad enough, let alone THINK about aircraft like the Mirage F1 or Kfir.
It doesn’t? I’ve been able to smack them with AIM-9Js with ease, disregarding the 1/10 chance it’ll get through flares.
Its FM isn’t ridiculous… It’s a struggle to hit M1.0 in a straight line, ignoring slight turns, and compared to aircraft like the MiG-21Bis it stands no chance whatsoever.
That’s also comparing its 2 AIM-9Es to 6 R-60Ms, its laughably bad engines to an R-25, and its relatively bad maneuverability to the MiG-21. It’s at the point where even the MiG-21M series outclasses it.
It being better than anything else on the market has no sway in its BR, that pertains to premium selection as a whole instead.
I said fixing. Adding BOZ, fixing FM, adding AIM-4 is the fix I wanted, not just some downtier that took 3 minute to code.

You cannot say that you know how to work with them and then say the F-5C should be 10.3-10.0
Imagine playing with a F-86 and face God itself in terms of energy retention.

nah we gotta keep in mind decompression happened across the board for every plane, everything 10.0+ went up at least .3 BR, this went from 10.7 to 11.3 then it got buffed to 11.0 and now its 10.7 again so its a lower BR than release and we are reverting decompression now, but only for premium vehicles?
