Try playing the MiG-23ML in an 11.7-12.7 bracket and then get back to me.
Sure thing (not exactly ML but MLD):

Ah yes, the nerved Mig-23s wich have crappy radar now and get defeated by chaff easily. Literally fly above 2000 meters and you defeat the MTI (it needs ground clutter). Done. You defeated the R-24.
I think the logical solution is to add a BR12.3 battle to the loop, and as the matchmaking limit is stretched, the number of loops should be increased from 4 to 5.
Well, pointed out main problem already… 11.7 (somehow mainly russian jets). Enjoy being top of the food chain 2 out of 4 and extremely competetive once, resulting in being in highly competetive rotation 3 out of 4 times, 12.0 or 12.3 is absolutely SCREWED in new brackets. Questionable as MLD is easy 12.0 material if F-4J is.
Meanwhile 12.0 is on top ONCE and then getting destroyed by way superior jets. 12.3 cant be even top tier now.
Whoever did new brackets, wasnt thinking whatsoever.
idk man i was flying the f-4j against mig-29s and beating them in dogfights (do not ask how)
This is the Sim forum dude…
the way the forum is setup by default, you see every single post made regardless of gamemode until you select a gamemode specifically
yes you can see all the posts under “topics” - nonetheless the forum also tells you which subforum you are in, and it is a good idea to not talk about stuff you have no actual experience of.

If you enter game discussion yes, but once you enter a topic, you see what it’s about:
Also, before entering, it’s labeled in the list:
Im aware
Im not defending Gaijin but, after reading all the topic, I think you want to still have easy kills with the F4S. Even with all those changes, you still have the choice of being the underdog or wait for the top tier, like many other aircrafts. It’s warthunder by the way, everything changes even with premiums, sometimes they get buffed or nerfed (FM,DM, BR, missiles changes, other aircraft changes, etc.).
F-4S’ RWR can’t detect PD signals normally, so everything with PD radar is a question mark on your RWR (even friendlies so it is super confusing) and you also don’t get launch warnings for missiles if the enemy is using PD mode.
Just like the old F4S vs MiG23 (undetected by the MiG 23), or like many other aircraft (old M2000C vs F14s, etc). But even with that, is doable.
And also since F-4S is gone, only thing blue team has at 11.0-11.3 is just F-5E or F-4E which doesn’t even have look-down/shoot-down capability. And get to fight against Floggers which actually have. So now MiG-23 is actually superior to anything else at its BR. (Also why is there R-73 at this BR?)
The F5E is quite a capable aircraft. Yes, it doesn’t has long range missiles or SAR but it’s quite maneuverable, like the F16A (only IR missiles) vs the MiG29 (SAR/IR). Dunno if they had change the MiG23, but I think it is more sluggish than before so is harder to keep and win a dogfight vs F5E.
Unfortunetly in top tier AirSim, you don’t dogfight that much and instead you do some BVR. Taking a gunpod doesn’t benefit you %99 of the time.
A lot of top tier battles are still dogfights, even more with the unreliable radar and missiles (semi active and active radar) that are quite easy to dodge, ending in a guns/IR missiles.
Greetings
Just don’t play thouse brackets. I’m playing F-4S only 12.0 at top day. There is only one problem is matra magic 2. F-4S is superoir than Floggers at all aspects. I beat they in BVR and overturn in close fight. Fologgers was nerfed to shit state.
I reckon its because its a premium.
Phantom FGR2/FG1 are 11.3 but the F4J(UK) is 12.0. I reckon its the same for the F-4S. its premium therefore its a higher BR.
That being said, I can see the F-4S being a higher BR than the FGR2/FG1 though as it does have the HMS and the better handling, but 11.7 would be fine for it I reckon, about equal to the Mig-23MLD easily (either that or the Mig-23MLD should be 12.0)
Though of course the inverse is true for soviet aircraft with the Mig-23ML being 11.3 and Mig-23MLA being 11.7
F5E
The biggest issue with the F-5s and why I suspect quite a few dont play them all that often is that they dont have IFF in their radars. Whilst they are closed ranged aircraft and so VID shouldnt be too much of an issue, it is a bit of a pain in the arse to play sim with a radar with no IFF (Some personal experience with this as the Sea Harrier FRS1 had the F-5Es radar for 9 month and so no IFF, it sucked)

Curse and blessing both: It makes radar practically useless, so I have it off most of the time (exception ACM in dogfights when I’m already spotted), and detect targets mostly visually and passively via RWR, skimming a lot of the time a treetop height to hunt.
That’s a quite different playstyle and tactic than most other aircraft/pilots use at that BR range, so you can stealthily catch a lot of players that either don’t know you’re there (as you’re not triggering their RWR), or feel safe from you as you’re no threat according to their RWR…
skill issues, needs to l2p
You don’t even play simulator lmfao.
Your only top tier experience is 2 premium strike aircraft lol.
And it’s even worse in ground lol. It seems like you are the one that needs L2P.
im not the one crying on the forums about the f4s
Then go ahead, buy the F-4S and play it against MiG-29s in simulator battles. I will be waiting for your reply.
