I don’t fly it myself, but judging from its equipment, I’d expect it to be ok against bases thanks to ok load in conventional bombs and napalm, but it’s of course also an ok fighter with Sidewinders and Sparrows, as all Starfighters especially dangerous because of its speed.

I’ve had no issues finding sim lobbies in the F-4S during the 12.0 bracket, and it does extremely well because
everything else is being uptiered.
The aircraft I struggled most against was the F1C-200, but it was relatively easy to avoid them. MiG-23s was 50/50 on who would win. Otherwise it pretty much slammed everything else in the lobby.
In general, the conclusion I had
Phantom S is weak at 12.3 and above
And at rate 11.7 and below, it is a very wild and good plane
If it is possible to play only at rate 12, it is very fair, but the matchmaking system of a higher and lower rate is very unfair in all matches.
f4-s now is dead in sim. most of the time its straight up unplayable. idk where guys defending it find their lobbies, but in mine there is always mig-29. a lot of them. and they are better, than my phantom at everything. f-4s was a good premium plane before the snail decided to kill it.
its not about f-4s even. its about anything on 12br. that br is dead since its playing on bottom almost every brecket.
the worst thing is that snail knew whats its doing so it wont change anything. its not a mistake.

There are brackets where its fighting Mig-29s and brackets where its fighting Mig-23. Pick the right rotation

Yeah, i know. Almost every day its fighting mig-29 and rarely, when the time is right, phantom can catch a moment when its not on bottom. One moment in a whole rotation. Awesome brackets.
So what? Did i say f-4s is the only one broken by new brackets or what did you mean by that picture? That there is a bracket, when its on top? I know that. As i said. 1 bracket its on top. The whole other time its on the very bottom, against a bunch of mig-29 from both ussr and germany lines.

Most aircraft only get 1 bracket where they are top. The only issue is there is no 12.3 bracket for “slight” uptiers at the moment, but until we get 14.0s. There wont be any new brackets added. What we have now is the best we can get.
Much like any other 12.0 aircrat, play it in the downtier bracket, and if you dont want to play it in the uptier bracket, play something else. If you want a premium to play. the AV-8B(NA) is looking rather good at the moment
Your experience is basically a microcosm of pretty much every red side BR with 3rd - 4th generation jets.
You complain about MiG-29 being unfair…when the German F4F ICE has to fight F-16C, F-15C, and Gripen. Heck…you should give the MiG-29 a shot…player counts are typical 2:1 and the MiG-29 is just straight up inferior to the Iranian F-14A now that the missiles were buffed.
This whole BR range is basically unplayable if you are not on the USA side.

I know that too. I have ussr and usa top jets. Almost all of them. So i can compare. I know that ussr is a hardcore mode, where you flying almost blind with subpar weaponry.
Idk. Give 12br its own stable bracket. So the planes that been bought for a price of normal game wont be food.

Rotation 3. Its 11.3 - 12.0.
As I said above. Normally, most aircraft get 1 full downtier bracket. F-4S and other 12.0s miss out on the 12.3 bracket which would be a minimal uptier for it (and quite frankly thats needed for the 12.3s more than anything else which are forced to fight 12.7s all the time)
A 12.3 bracket would means the worst it would face is the F-4EJ KAI Phantom II, JH-7A, Mirage 2000C-S5/S4
and that’s it. The only other 12.3 is a Harrier Gr7 which its always matched with
(i now get why they didnt bother with a 12.3 bracket, only 9 aircraft at that BR currently and only for some nations)
Purely at top tier, the Su-27 has one of the weakest radars of any nation at the moment and is a bit buggy (actually all radars are, but the Su-27s radar seems perticuarly badly affected). Also the R-77s have a lot shorter range than AMRAAM. (though R-77s are better at close range)
So in those respects. Its worse. But… Su-27 can also take an obscene amount of weapons and weapon types, so can handle situations better than most, just takes a lot more effort (in part gaijins really bad weapon selection cycling)
But below that, Mig-23MLD is still good, though finally actually 11,7 worthy and not where it should have been before the nerfs of 12.0
Also doesnt help that the Bluefor vs Redfor balance is out at the moment, so soviets are usually fighting like 1v2 at the moment, but not a lot can be done about that
Well tier VIII is not so easy (except MiG-29) but MLD is most easy jet to play ever.
Yeah… I’ve never played it, but FGR2 vs Mig-23MLD definetly feels like the MLD holds all the cards unless they are stupid enough to try and fight me at alt in a headon.

Definitely MLD holds all cards. Only problem is that 90% of USSR teams are braindead.
They are used to 3 years of not having to put in any effort to get kills in it. They do now.
And im having a blast finally getting my revenge on all the times I was stuck in the FGR2 to deal with them now that I can Bring the Tornado F3 to bear against them in those glorious downtier brackets.
