F-16V Should be placed at 14.0 in ARB

It is technically faster, not doubting that.

Yet having an airframe that barely accelerates past Mach feels absolutely horrible when 9 times out of 10 you are dragged into full 14.7 filled to the brim with UFOs (compared to yourself).

And having THE lowest amount of weaponary of all the 14.0-14.7’s doesnt help at all.

Oh I certainly agree with this statement. Was just here to clarify the engine/acceleration between 16V and F-2A.

The F-16V and F-16CM PoBIT both get the same 30 large + 60 regular countermeasures. And the F-16 PoBIT does get a better engine, but in exchange it is also 1 ton heavier. Gaijin does not think differences this small warrant a BR increase. Otherwise the F-4S would be 12.3 (it has agile eagle which the 12.0 F-4J doesn’t get), the finnish 14.0 hornet would be 14.3 (1400 countermeasures vs 120 on all other late hornets), the swiss premium hornet would be 13.0 (better engine, radar, and double the countermeasures of all other premium hornets) and the SU33 would be 13.3 (8 r27er + 4 r73 vs the 2+4 on the 13.0 mig 29) just to name a few.

The real solution would be BR decompression, but trying to suggest that to Gaijin is just a waste of energy because they clearly don’t want to do that. Ideally we would have gotten at least 18.0 (20.0 would be nice) for air with blocks placed to prevent fox 1 only aircraft from fighting fox 3 equipped aircraft, but with a few exceptions.

I didn’t remember seeing it go up, my bad

Oh and I just realized I didn’t even mention the British F-4Js which are at the same BR as the US F-4J despite being worse in nearly every way, but thats a whole other issue

Remove the AIM-120D and place it at 14.0. Done.

then its gonna move up again once gaijin gives it the 9X

That’s fine. No reason to make it suffer in the meanwhile

For a BR where 90% of combat is BVR, it makes all the difference.

Same br as f16???

The path is exactly the opposite; the first Hornet, without HMD and without the extra countermeasures, should be 13.7.

All early Hornet Cs should be 13.0 (with AIM-9Ms).

In the case of the F-16V, the difference compared to the CM PoBit is huge.

The fact that it’s a 14.3 MLU makes it so bad that it’s actually questionable why they even brought this vehicle into the game.
Honestly, other nations in the game could get the F-16V too, and if they do, I hope it’s a real Viper (Block 70), because if every Block 72 turns out as bad as Taiwan’s F-16V Block 72 in 14.3, it would be better not to add the vehicle at all.
It would have been much better to add the F-CK-1 C at 13.7, or even the F-CK-1 A at 12.7, than to have introduced this cursed F-16V 72.
That was one of the worst F-16s I’ve had the displeasure of spading.
I believe that only the Thai F-16 OCU and the Norwegian F-16 AM are worse than it.

The meta is still WVR with BVR mostly as a pressuring tool. If you die to a BVR 20km+ shot, all that shows me is you don’t know how to notch/defend.

10 amraams do not belong at 13.7.

It’s not. One is slower than the other. That’s it. They’re both mediocre/bad 14.3s.

You say that because you’ve never actually flown this plane; the F-18 MLU2 is genuinely a good, consistent aircraft, whereas Australia’s F-18A+ and Finland’s standard F-18C are by far the worst F-18s in the game.

And anyone who thinks 10 amraams should be at 13.7 with the 4 amraam slingers clearly don’t know what they’re talking about.

Yeah, it’s bad 14.0. Doesn’t mean its a bad 13.7 if you move it down. Look at F-15A. It was mid/bad at 13.0, and it is outright busted at 12.7 if it wasn’t for the Su-30 horde.

At least that thing still gets BOL compared to american one that doesn’t. Or the first finnish hornet that has neither HMD or BOL. The engine prob doesn’t matter much when they’re both barely mach 1 jets.

People call things like this… what is it?
Right. Compression.

The Su-27SM sends its regards.

Bringing up the undertiered 27SM is supposed to change something? We forgetting the plentiful of F-16s and Gripens that also exists at the same BR with 4-6 aim-120s?

That plane should be 14.0 anyways so it’s not helping you here

You can’t justify another plane’s br based on another plane that is very undertiered

IThe F-15 is a 13.0 aircraft that only had its BR lowered because it wasn’t performing well due to compression.

The F-18A+, Finnish F-18C, F-16V, Thai F-16 OCU, Norwegian F-16 AM, Harrier FA.2, among others—these planes aren’t average… they’re really bad; they’re shit-tier.

That US mains weren’t performing well in. It’s not a good plane but it certainly is not 12.7.

Yeah let’s see your 4 derby gripen fight against my 10 aim-120 hornet. Fair matchup I bet.

You can’t seem to comprehend that just because something is “bad” at their own BR doesn’t mean that they should be moved down just because.

Everyone can go “wow Harrier FA 2 is shit therefore it should move to 12.7” when they aren’t the MiG-23ML having to dodge amraams on a 4-sector RWR.

The only thing that Hornet can do against the SA Gripen is put pressure on it; the Gripen outperforms those F-18s in every possible way.

I advocate for lowering the BR of those planes, though the game needs a comprehensive decompression first, hough I think that’s highly unlikely. Still, it would be a miracle and a huge relief if they moved the Hornet As from 12.3 to 12.7, the Hornet Cs from 12.7 to 13.0, and the Su-30s from 13.3 to 13.7.

Last i checked only having a better fm is not “better in every possible way”. I suppose players like you would think SM2 is weaker than eurofighter. After all, it’s “worse in every way” if you ignore that it carries 12 missiles right?

You can’t seem to understand that being able to pressure with 10 missiles while you only have 4 is an advantage in and of itself.

“I advocate for compression but we need decompression” is certainly a take of all time.

What I said doesn’t have the commutative property; the order of the factors changes the product.

First, there must be decompression.

then a BR adjustment for those shit-tier planes
Stop twisting things…

You oversimplify things in a stupid way.
First of all, if a Gripen is outside the nose-on aspect of those F-18s, within a range of up to 19 km, you have 10 AMRAAMs, but you don’t have an HMD to help you.
If the Gripen is above you and you have to point your nose at it to take a medium-range shot, the very fact that you have to point your nose up is a death sentence.
If you had to choose between these planes, you wouldn’t choose the Gripen to play at 13.7.
Between the Gripen SA, the Finnish F-18C, and the Australian F-18A+, would you prefer the F-18s?

You just twist things.
