The AAM-4s are pretty fun, something of note with the JM Is it retains the weight of the J while getting the F-15C’s upgraded engines, whereas the C also gets heavier (iirc).
Also HMD AAM-3s are nutty.

the F-15J is heavier than the F-15A
thats why there is no weight increase between the J and the J(M)
Yeah.
And the JM is lighter than the C, isn’t it?
i dont know on the top of my head
The gross weight according to the WT Wiki
F-15J: 24.9 t
F-15J(M): 25.1 t
F-15C: 29.8 t
I don’t think the F-15C Is actually 4.7 tons heavier, but that’s just what I found on the wiki.
looked at statshark
difference in empty weight is ~400kg
i dont even want to know where they got the weight numbers on the wiki from
Pretty sure the 15c can carry more bombs than the jm, gross weight is just max weight
If I had to guess:
Makes sense.
C also has the CFTs and GBUs
taking max weight dosent really make sense imo
empty weight or weight at min fuel would be a lot more useful
It’s actually 50 percent of the 120 km of the C-7, which would be 180 km. D-3 has been confirmed to have the same motor as D for future reference. Motor length isn’t the only thing that can change thrust of a missile, there is also the grain of the propellant. I personally think they used a new, more effective propellant to get that 180 km range.
You don’t think they made it dual pulse?
Not from what I’ve seen, no. If the proposed AIM-120E works out that might be one tho.
AIM-260 is like, 99 percent dual pulse tho, along with a longer motor, likely better propellant, less drag, and almost certainly an AESA seeker
how do you play the F-15C? this thing feels so mid
HMD lock is so inconsistent, against a close range headon target I pressed lock target multiple times and it didn’t lock on until he fired, which caused it to lock onto the missile.
@kizvy you are pretty good
iirc the F-15C is indeed the most mid F-15.
Its heavier than the JM (and Baz Meshupar, I think), and it doesn’t get the crazy engines of the F-15E.
With late model Fighter F-15s (not the E/I), the engine power is worse than early F-15s, but only at low speeds.
As you get faster, you accelerate harder.
I’d recommend you try to stay at around mach .83 to 1 (or more) as much as you can.
Other than that, it’s a F-15, it’s kinda a missile bus, So maybe try BVR.
If you can’t seem to get to altitude, fly straight until you’re nearing mach (like .8ish as I mentioned before) and THEN start climbing.
You should start soaring into space with ease once you get enough speed.
But do keep in mind, The F-15C is NOT the best BVR fighter, or even the best F-15, so you need to be careful and know when to defend.
Also, Just to be honest, I have not played the F-15C. However, I know it plays similarly to the JM, which I have played before. So the tactics should stay the same.
should i just break away once i get missile launch warning on RWR? also can you determine if a missile is defeated before the RWR pings go away?
do you know how to notch? what is your general game plan in the 15. the c gets lots of cms, and it gets better high speed pull than the 15e, so its general playstyle is flying around 5km alt (right below contrail height) and slinging off 120s and 9ms. and notching any missile thats fired at you
go perpendicular and pop bursts of chaff right?
with altitude changes/heading changes or even speed changes to throw off the iog. if you want to learn, I recommend this video:
