I honestly think this has to do jackshit with balance, it’s about revenue. They gave the f16 fake ufo flight model because the average f5 player couldnt hold W and pointclick with it. I think even a dev said on the forum they changed the FM because people complained.

Don’t get fooled, americans and some pro americans expected the F-15, Russians and eastern/soviet era fans expected the Su-27.
But none of them combined raised an eyebrow negatively if one day the Gripen would make it into the game.
I’m certain the mig29 was way more anticipated but they made it a brick regardless, and it’s russian so no russianbias card :/
We already know why that compromise was made. And the difference with the Gripen is that it came as a playerbase’s sort of unanimous wish that it finally arrived, i can certainly remember users posting screenshots with other people from the old forum asking for the gripen someday.
And for the record, that thing must. be. nerfed. Not because it was an all time community wish it automatically means that it must be overpowered to ridiculous extents.
The 29 wasnt added with the ER, it was a last ditch effort to make it not have the 5% WR it had on launch (it was way more broken than today)

R73 isn’t a magic missile that will win every dogfight, F15 can easily jam the minimum engagement zone coupled with the fact r73 spin out of control at high degree launches, it will turn into a gunfight where the su27 loses way too much energy
I didn’t say the F-15 would 100% lose to a Su-27 in a dogfight, though. It has less of a chance against the jets I listed above (the Gripen, M4k, MiG-29G, and possibly the MiG-29SMT)

R-73 is a worse dogfight missile than 9M in many cases, because of how dogshit the autopilot is, and if you spam enough flares even at 100 meters you can flare the R-73 sometimes. Or like 2 flares if you are a gripen/F-16

You get a fully baked R-73 that is competitive from a bare minimum of 750 meters to allow the seeker to compensate any trajectory, it’s capable of pulling fully thrust vectoring 40Gs, and is able to reach up to 3.5 kilometers in optimal conditions.

40G is it’s limit without thrust vectoring. Irl. In game it’s a joke missile, overhyped and overrated by skill issued people.

I know it is an F-15 but to be fair, and for a side aspect shot, i think the IRCCM is working decently considering the amount of flares he dumped which was definately a greater number than two.
Also shot down a MiG-29 the same game with the remaining R-73, but honestly at this point im just flexing around your overstatements because you probably think that Russia suffers.
And the truth is that you better start coping with the game’s ocasional bs as much as other players in their respective favorite nations do, because it’s not only about your preferences.

F-15 is basically better than F-16C in every way except dogfighting. It should be the same BR. People like to compare it to Su-27, but su-27 has it’s issues just like the F-15
