Expanding the Player Level System Beyond 100

I would like to raise a suggestion regarding the current level system.

At the moment, player level (capped at 100) feels mostly cosmetic and somewhat outdated. While vehicle progression remains the core of War Thunder’s development system, account level itself no longer feels meaningful once the cap is reached. For long-term players, especially veterans who have invested years into the game, hitting 100 creates a sense of progression suddenly stopping.

I believe expanding the level system beyond 100 - potentially without a cap or through an extended progression track - would make profiles more dynamic and rewarding. It would provide players with another way to showcase dedication and long-term commitment beyond simply owning vehicles or tracking playtime.

Additionally, this could create an interesting use for accumulated Convertible RP. Many level 100 players have gathered large amounts of Convertible RP over the years. For players who:

Already own most or all vehicles,
Do not wish to spend Golden Eagles on vehicle research,
Or simply prefer not to accelerate vehicle progression with money,

Convertible RP currently has limited purpose.

Allowing Convertible RP to contribute toward extended account leveling could:

Give veteran players a meaningful sink for unused resources.
Offer a purely profile-based progression path.
Create a sense of continued growth without affecting balance or gameplay fairness.

Importantly, this would not need to provide gameplay advantages. Even cosmetic rewards, profile badges, titles, or visual distinctions tied to extended levels would already make progression feel alive again.

The current level system feels static compared to how much War Thunder has evolved over the years. Expanding it would modernize the profile experience and reward long-term dedication in a visible and satisfying way.

I would genuinely love to hear thoughts on expanding the level system and giving Convertible RP more purpose beyond vehicle research acceleration.

I think this is a very good idea, but you will need to write a sugestion for this, as it will get locked soon. Secondly, my thought of some more ideas, Reaching each level would give players some prizes, like SL, GE or comos, etc. Would love to see this one day in game

I really like this suggestion and would definitely support expanding the level system beyond 100

Right now, reaching level 100 feels more like hitting a wall than achieving something meaningful. For long-term players especially, account progression just stops, even though we continue to spend time in the game. Compared to how much the game has evolved, the level system feels quite outdated.

Personally, I’d really like to see this happen because I enjoy having some form of visible, long-term progression tied to my account. Once you reach level 100, that sense of growth is gone, and only vehicle progression remains. While that’s still important, it doesn’t fully replace the feeling of your profile developing over time.

The idea of giving Convertible RP another purpose is also a big plus for me. I’ve built up a large amount over the years but don’t use it, since I’m not interested in spending Golden Eagles to convert it. Letting it contribute to extended leveling would finally make it feel useful.

Even if the rewards were purely cosmetic (something like special camos for vehicles or planes), it would already make a big difference. It would give veteran players something to work toward again and make progression feel active instead of finished. Overall, I think this would be a great addition and a nice improvement for long-term motivation.

I don’t really care about it tbh. I prefer to get work done for better gamemodes and alleviate grind in general.

Level is meaningless, you can just “level up” your account by acquiring more vehicles/spading them or whatever you think gives you some sense of achievement.

You are completly right, but it just feels akward to not grinding your level, but game mechanics over Level system

250 or even 500 . . . but the thing that needs doing is to change how players level up.
To get to lvl 100 can stay how it is, but once you cross that “threshold”, actual playing
should be the only factor to advance.
A formula that considers - FINISHED matches, not just games played.
(people that do not stay to the end of the match will take longer to advance)
Placement - where a player finishes in the each match should have influence.
Points scored per match(average score) and ofc this should be mode specific as well
Awards - per match, quantity and quality should help a player advance as well.

You could add some other more obscure parameters as well, like BP lvl completion,
Event participation/completion . . . there are many options.
But past lvl 100, no more advancement for spending money, buying things.
Ok for the first 100 levels, no need to change that, and one other thing . . .
Would really need to grandfather a lot of us old/long time players with astronomical
numbers . . . . lol, I mean seriously . . I made it to level 100 in about 6 - 7 months
around 12 years ago . … . I should prolly be at lvl 1000 by now at least . . lol 😘

And the thing that would make it actually worthwhile . . . . . rewards . . .
Every 50 levels or so . . . a vehicle . . a good premium vehicle.
If they make it go to level 250 and give something every 50 levels . . .
that’s 3 vehicles . . . not gonna break the bank and the players get a
nice little “Atta Boy” . . … win - win

Just some thoughts I have had over the years . . . but again . . one thing to remember

We can’t really ask for/demand things that will take a LOT of work and end up not
generating any revenue . . . so . . . wish away, but be mindful and consider
all the options/alternatives . . . we would be lucky to get anything . . .
It hasn’t changed in over 12 years that I know of, so . . . hard to expect it to now

Just some thoughts and my opinions . . . .

Already suggested twice. No need to reinvent the wheel in the suggestion section.

These suggestions were passed to developers, so the discussions were closed.

That’s kinda too bad, more discussion, player’s thoughts & ideas might just make something
“doable” come from it. At least give the Devs some more insight into player’s wants/wishes.

Communication is a good thing.
Be nice if this one stayed open for a while so more could add some input too

I was thinking the same thing; it would be fun to see a Prestige 10 (Level 1000) player in a 1.0 match. Besides, it would make it easier to distinguish between players who have been playing for years and have been Level 100 for quite some time, and those who reached that level last week.

They should rework whole level system instead of improve it, I don’t really know what the level system in this game works. Theorically speaking you won’t see a lvl 20 at 10.7 but right now there just a tons of lvl 10 at top tier thanks to premium vehicle. At the same time, being a lvl 100 bring no benifits to you.

The idea is good, but given how greedy gaijin is, they wouldn’t do this so people keep buying premium planes, even the level 3 user who buyed the F18 early, only to die every time they play because they don’t even know how to use a biplane.

Its nice to have but gaijin have some bigger fish to fry

When you prestige you lose everything, tf are we going to lose in WT?

But I agree with raising the lvl cap, maybe to 1000.
I’d also say every 100 you get a 100% RP & SL booster, but that’s far too generous for Gaijin

I bring a lineup of 4 tanks, 1 plane. I die right away in my three tank spawns and can’t spawn in anything else. I am supposed to sit there for the next 15 minutes because I want the full credit? That is one of the stupidest things you could have possibly said.
