Are you talking about EFT’s flight performance or Aim-120’s?

I think Gaijin modeling of very high alt is just wrong. Not even necessarily anything specific to the EFT.
But other issues like the EFTs rudder being basically useless at any alt above sea level is an issue that they need to resolve
probably because gaijin’s instructor LOVES to use rudder when it really shouldn’t be used at all

How do you struggle with EFT’s that much?
Mines has no issues maintaining supersonic speed during climb to 10k altitude.
Perhaps you’re trying to climb too aggressively?

EFT, F15 and Rafale can all climb at 30+º while remaining supersonic and even gaining some speed quite easily (I don’t know about other jets, but I assume MiG35 and some others can as well).
But yeah, overall, turning at high altitude needs to be done with gentle turns at least on EFT and rafale. Drop below 600 IAS at like 9000m altitude and it’s hard to pick up speed again.
Honestly took me a bit of time to get used to, since I’ve been more of a ground hugger for a long time, but now I feel confortable spending a game at 12+km and defending

Edit : but the FM of the EFT and rafale is somewhat similar (trading blows in acceleration, instant and sustained turns) so between that and the multitude of videos I’ve watched (as well as other players I’ve been playing with and against), I do hope I have a decent understanding of the FM

I do have it and he’s right on that part.
The big issue though that I dont think you can appreciated properly without having actually flown it is all the issues regarding the rudder. Even after the changes they made a few updates ago, it still flops about like a fish out of water half the time and the energy bleed from your back end sliding all over the places is pretty extreme.
The rudder performance needs to be notably improved, I seriously doubt it lacks that much authority at any altitude, and the instructor needs a total overhaul to limit the usage of the rudder to far more reasoanble levels

Rudder authority on the rafale is also pretty mid. I wouldn’t know the actual difference between the 2 but I remember some time ago when people were comparing pure dogfight FM of different planes that they said the main issue of the rafale was the rudder, while the EFT, considered better than the rafale, did not have the same mention (or nearly as much).
This made it annoying to use the Rafale gun, coupled with the weird ballistics. Now it’s probably better since the cannon is much easier to use with better aerodynamics tho
meanwhile, its probably still the single biggest complaint ive seen for the EFT FMs and this is the first ive ever heard that the Rafale has any sort of rudder issue
Oh, I can assure you the rudder is a big issue on the rafale when you get slow (400kph IAS and below I’d say). But as I said I could not compare the two as I don’t play the EFT. Maybe someone owning both could give their opinion though

The issue for the EFT is at any speed. Especially high speed.
Not just low speed.
