This Suggestion is about a Feature to voluntarily restrict the G forces your plane can pull, available to all aircraft in game.
This is intended to aid conserving energy at high altitudes, or within planes that haemorrhage airspeed such as Delta-Winged aircraft, or others like the Hornet/MiG-29.
This would function Similar to the Manoeuvre mode (“Cobra Button”), where it would modify the Instructor’s behaviour, and the “Dampening” SAS mode when in Simulator controls.
How Would it function?
There would be 2 main ways that the G limit could be selected, and changed.
Method 1 - Pre-spawn selection
(Image showing a selection of 5G, on a Drop down menu)
Within the Menu, you could select a preset G limit, that could be changed later in the battle, much like the radar controls.
This would allow for a basic preset limit to be chosen, and utilized, and would allow for some players to circumvent Method 2 as to save on keybinds.
⠀
Method 2 - Active G selection
(Image showing a selection up to 6G)
I would propose the Cyclic selection goes from 3G - 9G, though that range can freely be expanded or contracted by the devs, or instead, or have the option to disable cyclic G changes, to have a button to actively change up/down, allowing more tactical employment of this feature.
Proposed UI - Spoilered to condense Suggestion into a smaller format

while this is a rough idea on my part, i have attempted to model similar to the existing UI
It’s meant to resemble a G force gauge.
G-force gauge on Tornado F.3 for example

The UI i believe should have Green indicating the G-Limit is off, as to show there are no restrictions to flight performance and red to indicate that performance is restricted.
This is to Match the “Cobra button” where green indicates normal flight control, as seen with the green / red arrow seen on it. While Red showing an augmentation to the flight performance.
How how could this be used within matches?
The function would primarily be used to conserve energy, but here are some specific scenarios where it would be used.
Rate Fighting and Dogfight energy management:
Currently in a mouse aiming mode it is almost impossible to properly rate fight, often going to far too low a speed, however this mode, will allow Gs to be restricted, allowing to avoid pulling too hard on the stick, bleeding energy, this would permit aircraft that would otherwise have good rate performance, but are let down by the strength of their max pull (Most obviously being the F/A-18s), in addition some other aircraft are specifically rate fighters but cannot utilize their rate performance due to current control methods (F-4 Phantom comes to mind). The improved energy management seen here would also allow for other aircraft to more effectively energy trap other aircraft, and to simultaneously assist avoid being drained of energy too quickly.
Missile Jousting:
At top tier and just below top tier missile jousts are common, however when having to turn to defend, at the high altitudes these often take place at, mouse aim forces you to pull very hard, causing a disproportionate level of speed bleed, at an altitude where it is difficult to regain that lost speed and energy. This ability to limit the amounts of Gs pulled would allow for more fluid transitions between attacking and defending, keeping your energy high, allowing for missiles to have increased speed and range, while also having reserve energy to defend against a new threat that may have popped up unexpectedly.
Historical purists
It is no hidden fact that within War Thunder aircraft pull far more Gs than ordinarily permitted by fly by wire systems, or just limited due to the physical capabilities of the pilot, this limiter could be used to restrict an aircraft, for example an F-16, to 9Gs of pull, instead of being able to pull 13+ Gs, this would allow Historical purists to restrict their aircraft to its historic limiters.
Even leaving out Modern fly by wire aircraft, within the WW2 and early jet eras, aircraft often pull far harder than they would in real life, rather than the elegant slow turning fights seen during the period, due to the significantly less forgiving aircraft handling, a restriction on the Gs pulled would allow a return to the elegance seen in dogfights of the period, instead of the manic high G fights seen within the game, this would also permit some early aircraft that otherwise haemorrhage energy (E.G F8F and Clipped wing spitfires) to maintain their energy better, and become more competitive as a result.
Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion, and may you have a great day
