Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 3)

meanwhile, its probably still the single biggest complaint ive seen for the EFT FMs and this is the first ive ever heard that the Rafale has any sort of rudder issue

Oh, I can assure you the rudder is a big issue on the rafale when you get slow (400kph IAS and below I’d say). But as I said I could not compare the two as I don’t play the EFT. Maybe someone owning both could give their opinion though

It is a 9000m one-circle using a close fuel time.

I just found out that the gaijin forum has its own video uploader.

The issue for the EFT is at any speed. Especially high speed.

Not just low speed.

Second video doesn’t load for me for now

YouTube is currently checking whether the Eurofighter constitutes sexual content.

Or a crime against humanity

Must be a diabolical camo

It is definetly the sexier of the 2 jets :P

Well then, I’m going to get ready to board the J-16, Su-30SM2, and F-15CGE. Goodbye, European delta-canard.
Rafale was way more fucked than I thought.

Now its up, you can really see the oscillation on the EFT as you drop down to below mach 1.1 ish

this energy retention at -2G

Yeah, A G limiter that Master suggested would be really useful

Yup I can definitely see it. The rafale has more issues of “flutter” when doing low speed turns (especially in vertical), or when initiating a turn without correctly rolling (at high altitude) because the instructor tries to rudder aggressively and you just drift around , but it does not flutter in a sustained turn the way the EFT does

It is 80-90% of the issue with the EFTs high altitude turn performance in RB right now, because in addition to the obvious energy bleed, it also makes accurately getting into a notch much harder, as the aircraft wobbles for a second before settling and you have to wait before you can re-adjust the position of your notch.

Typhoon is a chore to fly, yes blistering performance. But it wallows like a boat when you turn or make slight corrections.

Comparatively the Su-33, F/A-18 are far nicer to fly.

Wuttt.

Are we using the same Typhoon?

If the altitudes at which each person operates are different, their impressions will likely be divided. I prefer an altitude just enough that contrails don’t form, but there are others who feel differently.

The Typhoon at high alt is miserable, at low alt you need to throttle back and a few defensive moves forces you to loose all your energy and likely flat spin into the deck.

Typhoon feels unstable, it’s just not good to fly.
The Su-33 while not as agile feels more planted I dont worry about losing energy and instant flat spin.

F/A-18 is the same. Typhoon is just hard work to fly and that extends to notching as rudder just wants to jerk you back into the path of the missile.

I would love Typhoon to handle even half as good as the Gripen does.

They need to delete the instructor and start again for the typhoon
