Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

WT has more accurate/complex modelling for stuff like IR signatures, and likely would be able to do a better job with radar if they/the community wanted them to (theres still a very VERY vocal group of the community that hates everything radar).

Also, idk if most RWR’s would even be able to pickup the Eurofighters MAWS anyways, being somewhere in the 32-38GHz range puts it in K-band.

Theres a whole 4 RWR’s currently in-game that hit K-band (L-150 surprisingly???, AN/APR-39A and AN/APR-39A(V1), and SkyGuardian 200)

I wonder, what bands can the EF RWR detect?

Good way to die unexpectedly tho…

Do we know the rough range of the PD MAW?

Depends on missiles radar signature, no clue of the exact range or even any approximate figures, maybe someone else knows.

Pretty good

you cant just look at frequency bands and go “yep this can detect that so it’ll see this”.
LPI radars are a thing and they obviously thought of this with Eurofighter.

Fair enough.

How good will be the radar of the typhoon that’s coming in the next update? I don’t know much about that plane

very

😳😳😳

Basically the best mechanical fighter-sized radar ever. Don’t know the exact numbers though, you could ask Flame or Gunjob for that.

Great for Simulator Battles

Also anybody know Captor-M vertical scan range?

@Flame2512 @Gunjob oh blessed keepers of the EFT lore, do you have any exact numbers I can see or that you can tell us regarding the Captor-M radar? Stuff like scan rates, gimbal limits, etc…?

I beg of you to bestow this holy knowledge on our meager thread T^T

(or anyone else with sources for me to look at, cuz lotta ppl say lotta things but nobody seems to have sources when I ask T^T)

It doesn’t really matter. Gaijin has got the serial number on jets wrong many times before. If they want to add a T1 jet but accidentally give it the serial number of a T3 they aren’t suddenly going to change their mind and make it a T3. If you are lucky they’ll change the skins, but usually it just gets left.

Scan rate is the big unknown currently. Tracking range is over 100 nm against a fighter sized target:

Eurofighter Radar

Gimbal limits are +/-70° in Azimuth and +/- 60° in elevation.

Other stuff:

  • Tracks 20 targets in TWS (possibly more in the background)
  • 6 datalink channels.
  • Air to ground target detection / tracking
  • LPI & Passive radar modes
  • Very good NCTR capability

what a shame

Well that’s the coolest thing I’ve seen all day.

I didn’t even know such flares existed! Thanks for sharing

it likely not gonna be only for German but if that the case i kinda agreed with him a little
because both Brits and Italy don’t lack gen 4 like German did
but nah there no ways it gonna be only for German anyway

While i dont think germany should get it before anyone else.

It would be a bit retribution for getting all the mig29s etc updates later. Even if poor italy abd uk had nothing to do with it
