Description: The Eurofighter Typhoon is the perfect example of the result of well-done European cooperation. In the Italian Air Force, it cover the role of main fighter. Talking about its story, In 1983, development of the Eurofighter began as part of the New European Fighter program, a program involving Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, and France, but after a few years, France left the project to build the Dassault Rafale. After France’s final exit, the first technical demonstrator, the Bae Eap, flew to the United Kingdom a few years later, in August 1986. The companies involved in the project were Bae Sistems (United Kingdom), Airbus (Germany), Alenia Aereonautica, now Leonardo (Italy), and ITP Aereo (Spain). The first prototypes were DA (Development Aircraft), and the first of seven, the German DA1, flew for the first time on March 27, 1994, followed by the British DA2 on April 6 of the same year. A total of 7 prototypes were built: DA1 and DA5 (Germans), DA2 and DA4 (British), DA3 and DA7 (Italians), and DA6 (Spanish). The first contract for a total of 148 Trance 1 aircraft (55 for the UK, 44 for Germany, 29 for Italy, and 20 for Spain) was signed in 1998, and serial production of the first version, the Trance 1, began in 2000. A total of 133 units were produced. At the start, this trance was meant for air-to-air only and was only later upgraded with the possibility of using some air-to-ground ordnances. Italy operates a total of 28 Trance 1 Eurofighters, all upgraded to the Block 5 standard, and they will probably be replaced in the future with Trance 4 Eurofighters.

Why it should be in game: it will be a very good fighter for the Italian top tier when the time will come,

Weird how the only 3 replies before mine are all identical.

This is a great F-15C MSIP II, Rafale, etc equivalent fighter and I anticipate this when the game is ready for all of these.

It’s strange because everyone thinks the same: a real Italian top tier for italy!

+1 with 120Bs and 9L(I)-1s as top missiles for 13.3
Alongside identical German 'phoon and British one with 9Ms (and 120Bs ofc)
Later Tranches can bring more capable armaments at a higher BR

These 3 alongside Rafale F1, JAS-39C, F-15C MSIP/J MSIP/Baz M, J-11A, and Su-27SM make for a great big update with every country (less France and Sweden but they’ll get 13.0) having pretty perfectly balanced and extremely equivalent top vehicles, all with roughly equivalent Fox-3s and current in-game Fox-2s.

The second pic in the “Pictures” tab (3rd overall) shows a Typhoon without the IRST. Is that something that was added in Trance 1?

No, they had it from the First prototype, but some units didn’t had It ( every single Italian unit nowdays mount It)
