See that A-10 way behind me?
My game is completely vanilla, no sound mods at all.
My canopy is closed.
I could hear his engines so CLEARLY that by sound alone I knew it was an A-10.
I did notice the other day that nearby aircraft seemed a lot louder than they normally were. I had some F-86 or something chasing me in a lower BR jet match and I knew he was always on my tail because I could hear him.
I dont recall it being that loud previously
I haven’t noticed any changes, everything sounds just like before. Some jets are louder than others, so they’ll be easier to hear and to hear through, the latter is very true for this Alpha Jet. Props are much quieter.
It’s the missiles they hear much more early. Btw, There are huge differences in the sounds of the difference aircraft models. Some of them are way louder than others.
If a CL13 is nearby, you can hear it from miles away.
I have not been able to hear any of the four AIM-9Ls that A-10 fired at me. Nor any other missile, certainly not with any time to react. This does not change with the canopy open or closed.
Did u use the “right” sound mods?
I don’t use sound mods. Sound mods are irrelevant to whether you have the cockpit open or closed, AntiCheat should be the thing handling it. Not arbitrarily restricting cockpit opening to whatever you feel like.
I fly with an open canopy because I don’t have VR, and the framing really obstructs visibility, especially in Soviet planes — their cockpits are just terrible. The wind noise hardly bothers me, but what can truly drive you insane is RITA’s endless monotonous mumbling: Zapri fonar’, zapri fonar’ (lock cockpit)…

If only gaijin would make this game like, idk ARMA or Squad that would make sense.
Not with the wind update. The only thing that have a chance through the wind is the new passing-by engine sound, but still… not that much compared to before wind update

… See…you are abusing a bug to get an advantage over other players.
Yes, the view is obstructed, but that’s how the plane was build. If you can’t handle it, don’t fly it.

Yes, even with the wind update… There are many legal Mods that let the missiles scream, sound like crazy music and so on… These are all sounds that are so extremely different from the wind sound, it makes it easy to hear, even with wind.
