Early jets are cursed for both Air RB and air sim.
Cause 1: Missile jets cause significant compression from above (preventing the likes of Sabres and Mig15s from going up). From below, you get the assymetry of late-war/post-war props vs jets creating a minimum BR.
Cause 2: Premiums (Sea Vixen, Su 11, Ariete) make actual balancing harder even under compression
That’s just one plane dude, the scale I was mentioning was between the whole area of 7.0-7.7, even if some planes out turned, it it’s busted energy retention combined with its STR blows most planes at its BR out of the water.
Why this is so, only Gaijin knows…
The F9F-2 should have been 7.7, but I guess it was too good, so it got the same BR as the F9F-5.
I played with the fully researched F9F-5 yesterday. It is an attack aircraft, against ground targets, but I have constantly encountered in battles with F-86K, F3H-2, MiG-15, F-86 F2, A-4E, the hellishly fast Su-11 …
Simply engage in combat only in a determined state, when there are remnants of the opponent’s team left, or you have one attempt at a surprise attack, otherwise only ground AI…
Their energy retention during vertical maneuvers does not help either…
I would say that BR is formed according to the effectiveness of the aircraft in combined battles and because of this, some aircraft in ARB are disadvantaged, or rather completely destroyed…
But it is not only this aircraft, there would be more of them from other nations and on other BRs…
Su-11 is kinda P2W altrough its not very easy to play. Could be 7.7.
Because of BR compression, the Mig-9 late is 250kg heavier but still a bit better. With the current BR compression, neither of those really deserves BR changes, but the Mig-9 late could handle 7.7 but it wouldn’t be great.
La-200 is essentially a fatter mig-15 its very good for 7.7 but also very hard to use because it compresses a lot and rolls poorly, the guns make up for it, both should be at similar BR so it could easily go to 8.0 while the mig-15s and sabres all should go up to where they were even within the current BR compression.
The la 200 seems like it should probably be 8.0 rather than 7.7 because I could literally outrun 15bis when I played it and it had the same strengths of mig15, just being worse at those.
I don’t own mb326k but it seems super strong. I think the fact that you see quite a few of this random italian attacker says something about this, even with the fact that it’s a new vehicle. Not many people play Italy unless there’s really that many prem f-104 buyers. Probably should lose its airspawn too.
If I remember right the 7.3 usa jet is also arguably too good for its rating and su-11 seems 7.7 worthy.
It seems people don’t find this rating interesting and just a roadblock to the famous korean war stuff, and alongside all these straight wing jets being quite similar performance-wise, nobody really talks about and notices which ones are under/overtiered.
It’s wild how I can be insulted after I author a post saying Mig-15 is too powerful for 8.0, MD-326K is too powerful for 7.0, there are multiple 7.7s superior to Su-11 and MD450, and La-200 is a difficult plane to use due to its weird dogfight characteristics.
Yet everyone seems to agree with those.
DocProfit was correct to complain about Mig-15 and MD326K.
I can see how DocProfit has difficulties with Su-11 and La-200, especially La-200 where it can boom & zoom rather decently.
The yak-23 was moved from 8.7 to 8.3 not long ago, that one should have stayed at 8.7. Top speed isn’t great but that thing is a dogfighting monster and climbs with mig-15. I played it at 8.7 and it was great.
7.3 is too low, The v3 at 8.0 was very good in my experience. The plane handles very well and turns with the likes of the sea hawk (but even better high speed turn IIRC) with even better guns. Altrough acceleration is quite mediocre for the BR, the energy retention makes up for it. Its not very noob friendly though, bread and butter is setting up overshoots and use those 30mm at long range when your enemy is zomming away.
It’s also a great ground pounder if no one wants to fight you.
The R2Y2 FM is more or less 7.7 standard, but with 500 rounds on 4x 30mm cannons 8.0 is kinda justified with the current BR compression. The jet it feels the closest to at 7.7 is the meteor (mk4?). The R2Y2 turns better, compresses less at speed and rolls better, while the meteor accelerates a bit better. Armament for the meteor is nice, but R2Y2 is even better. Can’t recall which one is faster but I think the meteor mk4. At 7.7 it would be very good, but it isn’t really suffering at 8.0.
Most of these problems would be solved by bumping the mig15s and sabres BR to their original ones
