Wow. I can hardly contain my excitement.
Also wouldn’t be in Germany. It was a program for India
Actually there’s a few things your forgetting there’s a tiger 2 with the experimental engine used on the tiger 2 105 program what was fitted months before the war then there was the jagdtiger with a gas turbine engine although the information about the prototype is limited there were also talks of panther with the same gas turbine engine although that one is much harder to prove
Yep just ignore the fact they are German modification and all the other domestic tanks I listed. Germany does not need the fake tanks
Do you even read my messages? I have mentioned them both. I’ve been meaning to write a suggestion for that Jagdtiger for some time.
The M41 is an American platform present in multiple trees and versions. The 90mm is an American gun. The JPz 4-5, the Ru and the Leo prototype are at least domestic designs using that gun. With the M41, you’re still putting an American gun on an American platform and you’re not even getting a unique experience out of it, because according to your own plan, there would be a tech tree version of the Ru, so this M41 wouldn’t actually be filling a gap: there would already be a “fast turreted light tank armed with the 90mm” in the TT at the same BR.
A tech tree M47 is not a German modification.
An M47/8 mixed platform is still just another Patton. God knows we have enough of those in the game, Jesus Christ. To each their own, nothing wrong if you enjoy them, but at this point that’s like asking to add another M44 to the game. I’ll skip.
Of course it doesn’t “need” them. It’s a massive tech tree. It’s not like this is an urgency or anything, the focus should definitely be on smaller trees.
Still. Sometimes you need copy paste to fill these gaps. But if given the option I’ll always choose a blueprint design with speculative elements over a copypaste one, especially if we’re copypasting a vehicle that’s already everywhere in the game.
Would be in the Indian aspect of the UK tree. It was specifically designed for the Indians to be built by Indians in India. Literally the whole point of the Indian tender for a tank was “it has to be something we can build” (which is why the result tank they got was welded, not cast).
Germany kind of sadly would just have to make do with imports and some very quirky modifications/prototyping from the post WW2 years.
the Type 99.
It’s solid reasoning, but it’s Gaijin we’re talking about. It is possible they would decide to put it in both trees if it suits their content strategy.
Not that it matters a lot since I doubt we’re gonna see them due to the lack of info.
Yep. Which is why the gap still exists.
The blk 90 is a German gun.
Its not but we were one of the largest operators of the m47s
Like what… What in the current tech tree at 7.3 area is fast and with a 90mm
Its still a unique modification done by the early bundeswehr that would help the experience of the early rank 5
The gap exists due to the lack of additions for the German rank 5 not the fact they removed the fake tanks
Please explain how a spg is equal to a heavy tank… You sound silly
Common shells, virtually same performance in game. 90mm Leos and a TT Ru, sure, I don’t find that very exciting but it’s better than nothing. But dear god no more Bulldogs and no more Pattons.
Cool. Go nuts with it. Just don’t be surprised if other players aren’t very interested in playing the Nth M47 over German vehicles.
You literally said you would add a TT version of the Ru. This would make the M41/90 redundant.
The three removed tanks currently make for a very competitive 7.0 lineup, backed up by planes that also have a 7.0 BR in GRB.
Since all of your proposed additions would be higher in BR than 7.0 (or lower in the case of the Jagdtiger Sla and Tiger II late) players would still not have a replacement for this lineup.
Adding to this the fact that several of your suggestions are adding more American tanks to Germany… Well. If this was not controversial, this topic would not exist.
I am moderately in favour of copy paste but in some areas it is heavily overdone. Early postwar American tanks are one such example. There are historical grounds for this, America was supplying tons of new allies that weren’t making their own tanks at the time, and understandably so, but in gameplay terms it’s still meh. I’ll pick blueprints over one more Patton every day of the week, sorry.
There’s actually way more options for Germany then you’d think especially now if we start thinking about unique swiss tanks as well the only issue in the German tree is the lack of love by gajin
Good luck trying because there’s literally nothing on that prototype other then 1 document from what I Can find
Both are unique German varients. They should come
I think your forgetting people have asked for a tt m47 for awhile now lmao
I said honorable mention I don’t see it being added at all currently we only know it exists by 1 document in the Bundesarchiv the rest is unknown
They’d all be from 6.3 at the lowest to 7.7. there would be plenty to fill the gap
Its really not controversial I never suggested them over domestic German options the m47 would simply act as gap filler and the m48 with the m47 gun again would be unique to Germany since idk any other country who did similar
Thoses at minimum would be 7.0 lmao they are direct improvements over the current jagdtiger and tiger 2. Fixing both of the issues with the late German heavys. The lack of mobility especially in the case of the jagdtiger from 600hp to 1000hp with a lot of torque
Copy paste isn’t controversial, right. That’s why Gaijin felt the need to write this community post and why the thread is almost 1300 comments deep.
The Tiger II is at 6.7 and the Tiger II Sla is also at 6.7 despite having better mobility. If you were to replicate this scenario with the two Jagdtigers, one regular and one Sla, they would also be at the same BR, just like the Tiger II and the Tiger II Sla are at the same BR. In both cases we are literally talking about the same engines.
Technically the Jagdtiger was the only vehicle a Sla engine was ever installed on, installation in the Tiger II never occurred, it was simply proposed. But it is the same engine we have in game already and it does not have 1000hp of output.
Hell, the pre series Tiger II is even worse compared to the Tiger II Sla because it has both worse mobility and a worst turret and it’s still 6.7. You can lmao me all you want.
I think there would be ways of making them be 7.0, but it would require giving them additional factors.
No the issue with copy and paste is the focus on it and not domestic options again only one of my suggestions would actually be copy and paste. The m47 although boring as a addition it’s something that would help the post WW2 brs
Minor improvements compared to a huge increase in mobility speed and power while still being one of the most heavily armoured tank if the br range and the tiger 2 late production could add its range finder along with the 700hp engine
That’s because your thinking of the wrong engine girlie. The 1000hp engine came from a gas turbine engine modfied 262 engine for ground use and as far as the story goes in early 45 this was tested and burning down parts if a forest from 1m flames. It was not just the same engine as the SLA
Do you have proof that this installation was ever carried out in metal?
The Sla engine was installed for trials on a JT:

in early 45
its so funny to me that in the end of the war they were wasting resources in stupid things instead of actually useful things
Do you have proof that this installation was ever carried out in metal
The proof is limited there’s reports here and there from Ferdinand Porsche talking to reporters and news during the ending of the war id personally recommend you do your own research there and see what you believe.
Here’s a old thing from the tank museum about it Gas Turbine Jagdtiger - The Tank Museum
