Honestly, US Mains who try to blur the points are frustrating.
The problem with Current Stingray is
not the same case as the Skink one.
It is fine to have Stingray, but Gaijin C&P it lazily and added a direct copy of the Thai version.
Oh, and VFM5 vs CCVL? Yes, Gaijin should’ve modified the modelling to represent a proper prototype of Stingray, instead of
Lazily C&P the Thai version of Stingray, and strap a ‘national sign on nametag of Thai version instead of US version’ which makes it seem like “Thai Stingray on the Japanese Tech Tree is lazy C&P of American counterpart.”
We can even see some US Main complains ‘why Japanese got C&P of our tank’ when Stingray couldn’t be exist if Thai didn’t decided to buy.
In Stingray, they can have it because they developed it, just they should’ve change 3d model.
And Skink,
I explained earlier, unlike Stingray, Skink has ZERO relationship with USA when being developed. ffs.
The two cases are totally different.
Then what.
If Skink needed to be added because of nothing but it uses a Grizzly I chassis,
Then, with the same theory, every Canadian LAV should be added on both German and American tech because…
US Army operates Strykers, which use the same hull,
and MOWAG was a Swiss company, and Switzerland is a sub-tree of Germany??
May I see the US parts in the real Skink? Because I doubt a domestically made turret with Polsten uses US parts. Oh wait, it doesn’t.
This image, this right here:
It’s the beginning and end of the Skink.
This here is a Skink on the Grizzly hull (in the UK before it was tested in service (with guess what, the Canadian & British Army))
One of many forms the Skink would have taken.
So you’re claiming the US should have the Skink just because of one of the many hulls it could have been put on. It’s like claiming any of Markman’s vehicles that used a US hull to show it off, as the US didn’t make those; Markman did independently. At that point, claiming the Skink and “claiming the world” is the same thing.
And it’s been repeated multiple times: the US could have a claim to the Skink, with versions it used, but it REJECTED IT WITHOUT TESTING, meaning the US didn’t even want a part of the program, which means if the production line (as the Skink wasn’t a prototype but a production vehicle) it still wouldn’t have used it.
Yes, the hull, engine and transmission. The tracks and speakers were American until the Canadians changed them later.
If you consider the Grizzly to be Canadian because they changed some of the M4, the Packard Merlin is American because it was completely redesigned and used American components.
