Dreams Come True 2026 Predictions

Wdym why would that be the case, bc if they lock it behind a pay wall you physically have to spend money to buy it. Im not the one who stated that they made events for money i was simply arguing that the guys got the wrong idea about that

That wouldn’t be as profitable. Premiums are already there, but events do something completely different by making sure players are active for the time of the event, which additionally causes these more active players to be more likely to buy premium content.

You can also buy missed event days and complete almost-done ones with GE, another source of income.

And finally the marketplace, which functions on another currency that can only be used within Gaijins own store, not only incentivizes players to pay money into this system to buy vehicles after the event, but also gives players a reason to do events they might otherwise not care about for “free” premium content, which is actually still paid for by another player who purchased the GJN. And since every marketplace transaction Gaijin takes a cut of the price this is not a self-sustaining trading system, but requires players to continually put money into it.

None of this is designed for any player benefit, it’s centered around profit. Which isn’t inherently wrong, and to some extent even inevitable, but also not something players have reason to actively push for.

No one can complain that they do it for player retention as well, the game has to do that, the whole point of adding stuff is to keep player retention

Player retention can be maintained without locking completely unique vehicles behind FOMO

My Suggestion for it got rejected smh.

I still think it would be better if events were reskins, but had full premium bonuses the draw could be “free premium content” instead of locking a unique thing behind a time-limited event. This is even currently the only player benefit of the marketplace, as doing events to trade and buy free premium vehicles/account/currency is the only full on benefit the current system has from players point of view.

The only issue with this is that with the current system Gaijin takes profit from the GJN sales, so no content is truly free, some player always has to pay for it. In fact with the cut Gaijin takes from transactions on the market, this means that players have to pay them more comparatively so that someone can get this “free” premium content.
So it’s unlikely they’d ever want to shift to a truly free system from a business point of view.

player retention is not the main thing here, its rarity otherwise they would implement it in a way you could get it anytime but you have to grind for it. I get the FOMO side of it but at that point just spend 3 hours every 2 days or 1.5 hours every day grinding for it or the days you possibly cant do that spend £6

The main thing is money.

They don’t care about people who play the event and get a cool free vehicle, they care about players who skip event stages with GE, players who decide if they play so much they might as well get premium, players who buy GJN to purchase old event vehicles on the market.

And in this system the only players that profit compared to if Gaijin just didn’t permanently time-limit vehicles are those that sell them for profit. And that profit itself doesn’t come from Gaijin, instead it comes from other players who paid even more than the full price for whatever was “earned” through this method.

Your forgetting there are still a large majority of console player me included that cant sell the vehicle or buy it on the market, if everyone was so bothered about gaijin only implementing the option to buy stages with GE no one would buy it, they would grind it

Rarity isn’t their goal.

A combination of hype, player retention and profit is the goal.

Look at the F-14 IRIAF, that thing was/is insanely popular and it’s not a completely unique vehicle.
A vehicle doesn’t have to be rare to be appealing, but if rarity was so important, people wouldn’t mind event vehicles being less exciting.

Nowadays event vehicles don’t end up being rare either way, as enough players grind for them.
But at the same time, rarity doesn’t necessarily make a vehicle valuable, you can see that by going on the market and sorting vehicles by price.

There are very cheap vehicles on there that don’t have big stocks.
At the same time there are very expensive vehicles that have huge stocks available.

Well, you could look at the market, if you weren’t a console player lol

Nobody is bothered by the ability to buy stages with GE, people actually are glad that this exists, as the events are FOMO

Yes you do have the vehicles that play insanely good or insanely bad but if the whole playerbase had them and there was a large majority in a match that had insanely good vehicles then can it really be called insanely good if everyone that has them have no advantages other eachother?

To be fair it is to an extent, because it draws in profit. My only real point here is that from a player side you don’t actually lose anything just because something isn’t rare.

At best the only advantage is to show off, and weighing that against the disadvantage of others missing out makes it seem quite insignificant from all but a strictly self-centered viewpoint.

I’m not arguing about their performance, I’m arguing about their popularity.

The IRIAF would be popular no matter how common it is.

Its the same as a race if there is 1 car that has a better “engine” then other cars it can be called “insanely good” but if all the cars have the same engine as the “insanely good” car then what good about it, (this is just an example of what im saying dont take it to heart)

I’d say that rarity in that context is a side-effect, rather than a goal

It is popular because of its performance btw

That… is just how balancing works? Ideally vehicles would only be matched with similarly good vehicles, that’s what BRs are for, a 7.7 vehicle will be roughly equivalent in performance to another 7.7 vehicle.

If one is significantly better to the point it gives an objective advantage, that is a sign of poor balancing and absolutely not something people should strive for, let alone have it limited to a small selection of players that then get this inherent advantage over others.

In this example it’s pretty easy to make the point too. Racing is still a sport, where cars play a part, sure, but they still need to be closely matched. If one car was just objectively better than all others and could always win, who would watch the sport?

Then theres nothing special or rare about it if everyone has access to it

For a long time and especially now people are arguing that it is actually underpowered, it still gets sold for 100 bucks on the market thanks to it being a Tomcat
