Dreams Come True 2026 Predictions

I can’t agree with that at all. Event vehicles can be special variants of existing vehicles, but vehicles like the F-106, F4D-1, Object 292, Marut, AGS, etc be locked behind FOMO events takes away a lot from the tech trees themselves.

In worst cases we can end up with multiple related vehicles being locked behind FOMO without there being a regular TT version (XM8, CCVL, LOSAT, the only version regularly available is in the British tree) and the E.B.R. almost ended up like this with 2 of 3 variants being event ones-

The whole point of event vehicles is to introduce vehicles that people can get if they grind enough while also limiting the number of them, last thing you would want is a whole team of 292s there is no point of adding events which are LIMITED TIME vehicles if everyone can get them

I think I see what you’re saying, but I’d argue that the D-Day event is technically a part of the standard cycle. It’s a special event, certainly, but not separate in a way that DCT is. I could be wrong though.

Also, last year, we had the event before and after DCT be ground vehicles, but DCT be an aircraft, so at the same time I don’t quite see what you’re arguing?

If that’s the case, then I stand corrected. However, the Ki-64 is still just as viable, as numerous other aircraft have been implemented into the game despite having no armament fitted. The XF5F and XP-50 come to mind.

As for the whole FOMO discussion, I agree in that it is in general a bad thing. As I understand it, newer players struggle to get into the game since many of the cool vehicles are locked behind past events, no-longer-available premium packs, etc. Ideally, everything should be available to everyone.

To further add mark of distinctions only take me about 3 hours, fair enough if you work 12 hour shifts and cant get them but then you have to ask yourself if you are working that much should a pixel tank really be the top of your concerns

You also got the fact of the matter that older event vehicles that people have signify how long the player has had them for, for example the M60 AMBT, if new players now suddenly got acces to that (bearing in mind most now are 10 year old squeakers who main germany) it takes away the value of that vehicle plus the rarity.

No. The whole point of events is to maintain player retention (and make money from the marketplace). For this reason Gaijin has an incentive to make event vehicles rare and powerful, but if they overdo it, it harms other aspects of the game, which is why they do a balancing act. Sometimes you get a 292, sometimes you get a copy paste T-34-85.

This is their business POV and it makes sense if you’re a company.

FOMO however is pretty anti consumer (think pressure of impulse buying in telemarketing etc) and while it may be a necessary evil for a F2P game, it’s still healthier for the playerbase if it doesn’t compromise player parity at least.

Bring it the fuck on. It’s hardly a balance problem, we have the BR system for that.

Gaijin controls the pool of available coupons because, aside from players who ground out the upgrade, they create new coupons to distribute through loot boxes (gambling, another problematic practice). This is a way to generate artificial scarcity and drive up marketplace price by throttling supply.

If you do not see how this is fundamentally an anti-consumer practice, then I cannot help you.

The D-Day event isn’t part of the “new” event cycle, it’s basically like the Winter event.

What I’m trying to say is that Gaijin seems to try to keep a somewhat fair rotation, so no part of the playerbase feels left out. Though looking further down the event history, it seems like that the AVRE situation was the first and only time they cared about that lol.

2024s DCT event (KV-7) came right after the Boxer MGS.

Trust me i get the FOMO, as i had that with the sturmtiger as i did not know how events work but im not at the point where im complaining bc i didnt get it

There wouldn’t be a “oh, but what about the veterans” situation, if we didn’t have this FOMO trash in the first place

I have the Sturmtiger and would like you to have it too. Under my view, we both benefit. Under your view, I get to use it and you do not.

Maybe mull on that for a minute.

I have played this game for 10 years, i do love it and it holds a special place in my heart but then again im not gonna throw a fit bc a vehicle got added as an event and i couldnt get it, yes i will be bummed about not getting it but at that point i would spend money

Not really. PAK Puma was way before my time but I won it in a gambling box. Yay?

Thats what makes the tank rare, yes i would of grinded it if i knew how but its not the end if the world, its still a rare tank and thats whats special about it

Could potentially pull the M60 AMBT out of a camo trophy as well, the supply of that vehicle keeps going up bit by bit, most people just can’t afford it

Or they are console players lol

So did i.

I think the point is while it makes sense for Gaijin to support artificial scarcity, from a player side you don’t actually benefit from it. No player loses out when another gets a vehicle, since for digital goods like these there is a theoretically unlimited supply.

If gaijins main motivator for events was money and profit they would just make it a premium where it forces players to spend money rather than giving them an option to grind it

If it was player retention it would’nt make sense bc as long as they added the vehicle in some way you still play the game to get it?

If the IS-7 was a pack premium it would not cost 2000 quid, brother.

And like I said, money is half the equation, not the whole story. The other benefit is using FOMO as a pull for player retention.

Why would that be the case?

They already earn money from event vehicles not necessarily being super special and unique. People will still buy the Marks of Distinction and since the vehicles usually have coupons to list them on the market, they generate income through that as well.

Premiums and event vehicles can be reskins, special variants or niche vehicles. People would still spend money and/or time to obtain them.

The events really just are a way to keep players busy.
