I’ve had a revalation that the DCT could actually be a ground event as when you think about it we havent actually had a “tank” as a ground reward since MAY which was the KV-8, compared to a plane (F-16XL) which has just passed, although this could be me coping as it DCT seems to pull a “Nah imma do my own thing”.
The current event is a tank…
This has nothing to say about the DCT Vehicle. It can still be a Tank/Ground Vehicle.
“B-b-but that’s not a tank, it’s an armoured car”
That’s not what Nowel was saying. Re-read the whole exchange.
I want badly the Il-20 too. It’s the ugliest attacker ever, but still a dream.

I don’t think just being ugly is enough of a reason to be a DCT vehicle lol
Alls Whale that ends Whale, the Excellent adventures of HMS Bristol.
Type 82 Destroyer, HMS Bristol, D23.
The only ship of her class, designed to provide air defence for a new class of Aircraft Carrier that never appeared. With two Sea Dart launchers, single 4.5 inch Mk.8, and sundry of other weapons she would be a difficult fit in the Tech Tree but a good candidate as the first naval DCT.
Sea Dart test firing

Semi-retirement as the defanged training vessel at HMS Excellent, Whale Island where amongst other things I had the ‘pleasure’ of doing my ‘Bandit’ (onboard/internal counter insurgency) training.

The final hurrah as she’s towed away to the breakers yard
Actually read my post…the AMV is an APC not a TANK
It’s a ground vehicle, which is all that matters. The chances of DCT being a tank still seem to be low due to the event schedule surrounding it.
I would have said that the chances of it being a ground vehicle or an aircraft would have been about the same, but since we know that the event after DCT will be a boat, I’m pretty sure the DCT vehicle is going to be an aircraft
I’d say my No.1 aircraft i’d want it to be is the He 280 as the Ki 64 did not have guns
I’m not sure the fact that the post DCT vehicle will be a boat necessitates that the DCT vehicle be an aircraft, as DCT has repeated nations/classes in the past. The bigger issue, as I understand it, is the fact that, if DCT is a ground vehicle, then we would end up with three ground vehicle events nearly back to back, with the coastal vessel event being the only break. This is an unusually high density for one class. On this basis, along with the fact that the chances for a DCT boat are exceptionally low, I conclude that DCT is most likely an aircraft.
Not a bad choice. Seems like it’d fit the bill, and it seems like the kind of thing to fit the popularity requirement. Could see it happening, whenever nations are repeated for DCT.
From what I can see, both the He 280 and Ki-64 had planned armament, but in neither case was it ever fitted. So they’re both in the same boat here.
We’ve had a somewhat similar situation before where a separate event messed with the event vehicle order (Churchill AVRE).
The announcement of the post DCT vehicle being a boat makes me believe that they are trying to avoid such a situation to happen again.
I really hope the next DCT reward is a tank, because it’s the only chance to get a fun and unique ground vehicle. The rewards in regular ground events have been pretty dull lately.
I highly prefer the event vehicles to be not too unique.
Unique vehicles being locked behind paywalls and FOMO is just the worst.
The He 280 did have its 3 20mm fitted, there was also around 9 airframes with He 280 V5 and He 280 V6 reportedly being fitted with 3 20mm cannons with He 280 V2 to reportedly to have undergone testing with 3 MG 151/20 cannons, if it isnt obvious already the He 280s with cannons installed did fly.
I think thats a good thing, its what makes the vehicles rare and unique compared to everyone having access to them
Do you ever not complain when getting unique and cool vehicles?
L take. Player parity is important. People should not miss out on experiences because of FOMO.
The golden rule of event vehicles is composed of two parts:
One - If an event vehicle is competitive, it must not be unique.
Two - If an event vehicle MUST be unique, then at the very least it should NOT be competitive.
Negative examples: The PAK Puma and the KV-220 are very powerful vehicles with no immediate TT equivalents and most of the playerbase will never get them.
Positive examples (competitive but not unique): the T-34-85 Partisan is a very competitive medium tank, but its only difference from the regularly available version is cosmetic, which means that players who did the event get the benefit of lineup depth + cool cosmetics but not straight up power.
Positive examples (unique but not competitive): the Sturmtiger and the AVRE Petard are goofy as hell and hard to use. So while newer players lose out in terms of uniqueness, at least they’re not missing out on power.
Nothing more detestable in a PVP videogame than rules for thee and not for me. I have plenty of event vehicles and I would give away their uniqueness in a heartbeat if it meant more players could enjoy them just like I enjoy them.
