and it was never built or had a finalized form
That doesn’t matter according to the suggestion rules.
The design was finished, we know what it would have looked like and parts of it were built.
You aware tons of vehicles are passed every month? it means “we’ll look at it” not “it’s definitely being added”
cope all you want this is a fake tank and will not be added
It is in fact not, according to the Rules.
Considering whatever vehicle features in this year’s DCT should A) be really weird and B) reside in the rank III-IV range, maybe it’s more likely that we’ll see a ship, though I think myself and many others would prefer an aircraft. Partially built ships are a dime a dozen in the naval tree so we’d have to look at the vehicle itself being off-meta and unlike other things in the game. Erebus like someone mentioned earlier could be a good call, or maybe Furious with her 18 inch singles, but in terms of not being complete dead weight the Gorgon-class monitor (coastal defense ship) is a better choice IMO.

it is, you can try and shift them but it’s less real then the flackpanzer 341
has as good a chance as the O-I
If the assumption of no repeated nations holds, then the only options can be from Japan, Italy, France, or Sweden (Israel is not a complete tree, so I don’t expect it will ever get a DCT vehicle). I am unaware of any viable choices for France or Sweden, unless the FCM F1 or Kranvagn somehow make it in.
For Japan, since the O-I has been denied, options are somewhat limited. I know of no other viable tanks that satisfy both the uniqueness and popularity requirements, so I’m expecting Japan’s DCT vehicle to be a plane. Among requested Japanese prototypes, there are only a couple that satisfy the popularity requirement.
- The Ki-98 has, apparently, been requested for some time, and is the most unique option. However, no photographs or other evidence of the incomplete prototype survive, so it may struggle to be added.
- The Ki-88 is perhaps unique enough, but not as popular, though the Great Model Leak of 2019 contained it, so maybe it will come at some point. Existed as an incomplete prototype, though no photos exist of it (only of the mockup), so it may struggle to be added also.
- The Ki-64 is unique enough, and is by a significant margin the most highly requested Japanese prototype to date. A prototype was built and flown, of which photographs survive. Definitely the most viable addition so far, and since Japan doesn’t have anything “quirky” or “gimmicky” in the manner of some of the other DCT vehicles thus far, I believe the Ki-64 to be the most likely choice for DCT among Japanese vehicles.
For Italy, I’ve seen a couple possibilities.
- The Caproni Ca.183bis is a textbook DCT vehicle in terms of uniqueness with its unusual inline piston engine and motorjet mixed propulsion, and it appears to have been requested for quite some time. Supposedly a prototype was ~80% complete before the armistice, after which it was destroyed in a bombing raid. However, no photographs survive, so it may struggle to be added, though the surviving diagrams seem to be quite detailed.
- The Hungarian 44M Tas seems to fit the bill of a DCT vehicle, but I don’t expect it due to the fact that, as a Hungarian vehicle, it belongs to a subtree nation, and vehicles from subtree nations must compete with viable options from the main nation (Italy) for the DCT slot. Vehicles from the main nation will likely be more desirable than those from subtree nations, so I don’t expect the 44M Tas to show up for DCT.
Of these, I still hold that the Ki-64 is the best choice for DCT.
ki64 yes I would agree with
ca183 is too much a stretch imo
It’s just as real as the Radkampfwagen 90, which never had a turret properly installed.
Or the Yak 141, which never had weapons or a radar integrated.
Or the Ho 229 v3, which never was fully constructed.
Or the J6K1, which only existed as a mock-up.
None of these vehicles are fake, they had parts for them constructed, reached a certain point in development and then were cancelled or abandoned.
Given how unpopular Naval is, I doubt Gaijin would risk a DCT Ship. The Community outrage could be huge.
Still waiting on XP-72, XP-40-Q2, P-63-D (US) - Me-306 (Germany) - Ki-64, Ki-88 (Japan)
Objective overhaul/re-work (train convoys to attack/defend in prop/low jet tier), (refineries/factories to attack/defend, that also have AA or sam sites that defend it), (AI objectives that fly higher at 6000m+, 10000m+ if it’s surveillance aircraft), a few new maps for SB EC, some with more naval (Pyrenees, Falklands, Pradesh, Kamchatka), larger maps before 5th Gens get introduced (from 128²km to atleast 160²km), new simulator modes, RB gets EC maps, remove iron dome (or significantly reduce MCM), reduce multi-pathing again (to 30m).
The game is becoming bland and repetitive. It’s all new vehicle hype with no real changes or re-works, etc.
I really struggle to see how the Ki-98, Ki-88 and Ki-64 are unique and I believe people would (rightfully) be very upset, if the 44M Tas ends up as a DCT vehicle instead of going into the TT or at least being a permanent premium.
People might be disappointed, but I wouldn’t expect it to lead to backlash, and even if it did it wouldn’t be on a large enough scale that anyone would care. If someone gets seriously mad over an optional event being a boat, they have bigger problems to worry about.
Fair, but a DCT vehicle should be something very popular with a lot of fomo. Something people just have to get. (Or feel like they have to)
A vehicle you never heard of before and need to google is not really meeting those requirements. Something that kicks with its looks alone.
I suppose I should emphasize that these would mostly be unique to Japan. Like I said, Japan has no quirky/gimmicky vehicles among available options, especially not something like the XF5U (though, really, very few things are that wacky), so if Japan is to get a DCT vehicle, these are really the only options to my knowledge. Something like the Ki-64 would likely offset its relative lack of uniqueness by its sheer popularity for consideration as a DCT vehicle, by my reckoning.
I agree. The 44M Tas would be best implemented in a way that is accessible to all. However, it would not be unlike Gaijin to introduce something like this as an event vehicle (unfortunately).
Yeah, Gorgon is one of my dream vehicles, but not many others. There is a similar vehicle though that I remembered just now. If we’re assuming that the host nation is going to be a nation which hasn’t had a DCT vehicle yet, then Thonburi fits the bill to a T. Highly requested, off-meta, and just kinda weird. It was designed and constructed by Japan as well, so it being a Thai operated vehicle wouldn’t cause as much of an issue as locking the Hungarian homegrown 44M to DCT.
I’m not necessarily fighting for a ship to be added, but in terms of the Rank range we’ve come to expect for DCT vehicles, I just don’t find most of the speculated aircraft or tanks in this thread to be very interesting in regards to DCT. I would like to see the Ki-64 some day.
Simply put, the Ki-64 is a combination of the He-100 and the VB.10. The Ki-88 is the Japanese equivalent of the P-39 or P-63. And the Ki-98 is the Japanese Saab 21.
All these aircraft are unique for Japan, as there were no other prototypes quite like them. The Ki-98 is the least unique, given the existence of the unfinished project Ki-94-I and J4M. The Ki-88 and Ki-64, however, are truly unique in the Japanese context.
The issue is not that the turret wasn’t built.
It’s that here is no actual performance of the ammo or the gun for the Kranvagn. All numbers are predictions as the gun development completely stalled before prototyping even began.
The vehicle is far too paper to be added to the game.
They don’t need to be wacky, there just are many, many, vehicles that either are truly unique or that sufficiently set themselves apart from existing vehicles.
Look at the XP-67, the only other blended wing “fighter” plane ever built was the YF-12 and that was a radically different design.
Or the BV 141, which, well, just look at it
Spoiler

The T-249, which mounts the largest ever built rotary cannon.
The T92 HMC, which carries the largest howitzer (not mortar) ever mounted on a tank chassis.
The FCM F1 would be the largest double turret tank and the O-I would be the largest triple turret tank.
The O-I would additionally be the largest tank ever built.
Or the T-22 that I just came across, that is the only tank to have a second turret on-top of the turret that has an actual gun (not just a machine gun like the Conqueror and the M-103).
If you compare the Ki-64 to the VB.10, there really isn’t much special going on.
But if you compare the Wyvern or A2D-1 to the VB.10, you have a major difference, thanks to the turboprops.
The Ki-98 is basically just a Saab 21, but the S.4000 and Fokker D.XXIII set themselves apart from the Saab 21 with their propeller layout (S.O.8000: counter-rotating; Fooker: push - pull configuration).
The VB.10 is yet another reason why the Ki-64 shouldn’t be a “dreams come true” vehicle. Why does France get to have its unique fighters, while Japan has them locked behind events?
Only three Japanese fighters featuring contra-rotating propellers were ever built: the Ki-64, the N1K prototype, and the experimental Ki-44. I would love for them to be included in the standard tech tree, as this is a fascinating technology that other nations could also utilize. However, Japan tends to have its unique “toys” locked behind premium or event status—take, for instance, the H8K3, the Ki-48 with the I-Go Otsu, the Ki-94-II, the Ki-87, and the J2M4 (why are all Japanese single-engine fighters with turbochargers either premium or event vehicles?). I do not want the Ki-64 to suffer the same fate.
