I would love to play a Matilda I
Bare minimum to be a viable addition seems to be having an M2 machine gun and I doubt the Vickers .50 has enough pen to match the M2s pen

vickers .50 cal is nothing vs the creation of our lord and saviour John Moses Browning.
maybe for reserve tier infantry
Reserve tier infantry would be absolutely cursed
I hate the fact that I can somehow see the resemblance
people running around with martini henrys (man id love for my gun to appear in a major video game again) and 1880s sporting guns facing the interwar doohickeys of major powers that didnt realise the renault FT was the perfect blueprint
Like I said, I’ve explained my reasoning throughout this thread, but I can collect my main arguments here:
Under the assumption of no repeated nations, the DCT vehicle is likely from either Japan, Italy, or France (I am not aware of any viable options for Sweden or Israel). Of these, Japan seems like the best choice, as it’s the only one of the original five nations to not have a DCT vehicle yet. However, this is speculative.
In addition to this, viable options from the other two nations seem to be relatively few in number. There are some options that are likely unique enough, but are either short on available information about them or don’t really meet the popularity requirement or don’t fit the typical era/BR range of DCT vehicles.
For Italy, there are things like the Ca.183bis for air and the P.43 for ground. However, the former, while reportedly nearly complete by Italy’s surrender, has no surviving pictures, and the latter was only ever a mockup. I don’t know of any other options that satisfy both the popularity and uniqueness requirements.
For France, the best choices are the SE 100 for air and the FCM F1 for ground. Concerning the FCM F1, the individual parts were purportedly made, but the prototype was never assembled, and so there is (from what I’ve heard said) some uncertainty about the final design and surviving pictures only of the mockup, so whether it is viable for implementation is not clear (it may just scrape by though). The SE 100 is honestly another good choice and something I could see coming for DCT, if it’s French instead of Japanese.
The FCM F1, if a viable addition, is also an ideal DCT choice due to its popularity and unique design. However, with the event before DCT being a ground vehicle (AMV (BMP-3)) and the two events after DCT being a coastal vessel and another ground vehicle, DCT also being a ground vehicle would produce a situation with three ground events nearly back to back, as well as a lengthy gap between the last air event (F-16XL) and the Winter event. For these reasons, I believe DCT will most likely be an aircraft, which would rule out the FCM F1 for this year.
Thus, if the DCT vehicle is Japanese, then the Ki-64 is by far the most viable choice, as it’s Japan’s most highly requested prototype (apart from the O-I superheavy tank, which was hard denied):
Among other Japanese prototype aircraft, only the Ki-88 is really a possibility, but the Ki-64 is much more requested, so I consider it more likely.
I have heard criticism that the Ki-64 is not “weird” or “unique” or “strange” enough for DCT. Concerning this, I have made the following argument:
Thus, I hold to my over a month-old prediction that the Ki-64 is the most likely choice for this year. As for whether it will actually be the Ki-64 and not something like the SE 100 mentioned before, we shall see. If the trailer comes out tomorrow, then the DCT reward should be revealed there. Otherwise, the DCT announcement, which will likely come on Friday, will reveal it.
(As an addendum, as I was writing this, I realized just how good a DCT vehicle the SE 100 would be thanks to its unique tricycle tail-dragger configuration. It’s not as popular as the Ki-64 from what I can see, but it has been requested for some time, to the point that its suggestion on the old forum was passed. It’s a real possibility whenever France gets a DCT vehicle. For this year, however, I will stick with my prediction of the Ki-64 due to its sheer popularity and the aforementioned speculation that Japan is most likely the next recipient.)
No it’s definitely possible to be added. And wtf are you on.
Mhh… It’s more than Mochup MBT
→ 4030/3 was build and tested, with the iran revolution in 1979 and the canceled MBT-80 project, the vehicule became the base of the challenger 1 (4030/4). The non-sense of the vehicule is the engine, it should be 1200 Hp.
→ Centurion Action X, one prototype of the turret was mounted on the chassis of the Centurion Mark 7, and another was used for ballistic trials. It was a project to renforce and the tank’s protection and to improve the silhouette. → project canceled, the turret idea was taken for the Fv4202 for an export vehicule and the Chieftain toke the idea behind the concept of the mantletless turret.
→ TTD was build, but never came with the 105mm gun test. Same for the 120mm idea, tested, but not introduce in the turret, then canceled for the Olifant Mk.2 (we should have the Mk.1B/2B variant too)
The Mochup is the TTD, not the others in my opinion.
Good heavens the TTD looks horrible
Missing MGs is an issue, mostly when you’ve the vehicule ‘stock’
105mm DM63 is okay, sometime the armor is capable to stop some ‘shells’ and that’s nice when you’re facing lower BRs (advantage to be in the gap 10.0/10.3 battle, VS 9.0/9.3 vehicule and their repawn with lower BR vehicules)
Good backup for the 4030/3 if you’ve it, but missing SPAA (Stormer AD not great not bad in the same time, but it’s not a LAV-AD), Desert warrior is questionning. For AIR, sadly the Jaguars Gr.1A is 10.3 and the lower atackers are more victims of the SAM vehicules.
SO :

BMP-1 (ZT3/30)

An upgrade program for the BMP-1 designed by South Africa specifically as a prototype for the Algerian Army
Id rather See the Rooikat 35.

I am purely talking about looks
Yeah. The rhino in GTA IV based on this vehicule too
Real tank that was extensively tested
Real tank that was extensively tested
Real tank built as a prototype for a stop gap vehicle in case the Chieftains weren’t ready and the Cold war went hot.
Meanwhile the MBT-80 had ONE prototype, that wasn’t even really a prototype, and just a proof of concept, with no armor or anything. It wasn’t even tested much because at the time it was built, the MBT-80 project was already heavily stalled and going nowhere.

TTD was a full functional vehicle, Hell even to this day they drive it around at events at the South African Armor museum.

TTD just means Tank Technology Demonstrator, it was never meant to be a full frontline combat tank, it was more a design study to see what they could do. The tank in game is the built prototype, the 120, and all of that was planned for the actual production version of the vehicle, had they continued with the concept. thats why it doesn’t have a full autoloader, and just has the assisted loader system, the production vehicles were intended to be fully autoloaded like the Rooikat MTTDs.
Firstly because its the different hull from different Bismark prototype :/ Or at least it looks to me like so.
If not, then probs germans put it back with them. I read that they only had one functioning prototype turret for Bismark and several hulls. You can see this hull is painted differently, so they may have just left it there to cut costs.
No, it wasnt.
THat is a good assupmtion, i read this throughout, but as you already said most believe the DCT to have something weird and hard to balance, thus not being weird enough is a good reason to not be in the list. I believe the J7W with jet engine then sounds much more terrific and suitable as it was both not entirely complete and seems pretty weird, than pretty basic prototype of Ki-64.
The reason i believe so is that Ki-64 being gatekeeped that way seems strange to me, but i love your way of thinking, you have some very viable arguments. Would still love to see you being right in your prediction!
