As an owner of the IRIAF from the original event, I was in agreement with the initial raising of its BR due to how effective the Fak 90 missile was.

However, after its BR got raised again, a very legitimate concern came to mind.

What if you don’t have the Fak 90 missile unlocked? The whole reason its BR was raised was because of this 1 missile, which is the final missile you can unlock for the jet. But before that? It’s merely an F-14A with some extra sprinkles.

This is why I want to discuss a certain concept: Ammo modules that also raise the vehicle’s BR.
With the module installed, the BR would be increased by, for example, 0.3 BR’s higher (13.0 → 13.3)

Its just a bad jet. I got it in the event. Played it a couple times then dropped it. Now its at 13.3 and I have no idea how to play it. Yes sure it has Fakour-90s but theyre not even that good. Notch and chaff and it’ll spoof it.

You could try using the fakour “closer” (don’t use them within 10km) and use a PD mode for hard locks for the r27r1 (for closer shots) might as well not use the aim9 in most scenarios at this br

I dont have the fakours unlocked. The R-27s and AIM-7E2s are the only half decent missiles and we can all agree they shouldnt be at 13.3 with them

This has been discussed for a long time and Gaijin has yet to say anything about it. I really wish it was implemented exactly like that, preferably with only 1 unlock/BR change per plane to make it easier to balance.

For the IRAF, it would be 12.7 without, and 13.3 with Fakours, the same can be done with almost every high tier plane. (F-15A 12.7/13.0 without/with Aim-9Ms, early Mig-29s without R-27ERs, etc)

Edit: this would also open up more options for vehicles to be added without adding an entirely new plane, for example the Mig-21 Bison or Yak-141 can have the option to carry R-77s, or the F-14D carrying Aim-120s but moving to 13.7.

I’ve been asking for this for a while. Depending on what weapons you bring, dynamically updates your BR and matchmaking.

F14’s are brutal to use for what they’re up against.

For A/B that radar only works if they fly straight at you, for D, well. Su30s. They’re in a very tough spot.

Personally i think the A/Bs should face late 60s early 70s Era. And the D should only be facing Legacy non-fox 3 80s to Mid 90s Jets. We need decompression, or communication that they’re looking into it.

-Also 120’s will bring far more harm than benefit. Even with the missile, that platoform seriously lacks the maneuvering capabilities to effectively use them.

The other issue is the IRIAF’s old outdated radar, the Sedjil relies heavily on having a good radar, which is incomparable to top-tier radars that the IRIAF currently faces

Not within the scope of this thread, but as a side not the F-14 never carried AIM 120’s. But it should get the AIM-7P at minimum
