My mistake, the tiger shot was with the zis-5. Still, the L-11 is perfectly good enough if used correctly. It has enough he filler to be a threat and its far from the worst gun at the br.
It has awful pen for the BR along with a bad reload rate
Great angled pen which means anyone who tries to angle against you allows you to shoot their sides. You think the 30mm or so of armour of a panzer 4 is going to be stopping you lol? Youll be surprised at the angles itll just glide right through.
Angled pen is not considered above average for the BR, it also wont matter if you can shoot weak side armor at good angles if the target doesnt expose their side to you
There’s a few situations like this, for my money right now one of the strangest is the GR7’s arcade rating at 13.0 RB is 12.3 which seems okay, at 13.0 though the thing is facing off against constant ARH spam, no radar, subsonic, and just not fun to play in that environment, feel like it needs rolling back to 12.7 in arcade minimum.

I don’t believe the tornado having 9Ls and a better radar makes up for its FM being abysmal to the extent it is better than the more generally applicable F-4S, but the Tornado is in the discussion at least.
Radar and Super temp with 9Ls make the Tonka very very good

Tonka is very good, the radar allows it to find targets alot easier than the f4s along with its 9ls allowing for some sneaky shots. However, the f4s has hms, and the slat package allowing for excellent dog fighting ability along with the 7f meaning any joust with a tornado will end up with you winning just as long as you fire early enough with the 7f. And as long as your able to draw the tonka in the f4s will be winning the dog fight.
You can use the Long ACM mode to mitigate the HMD advantage.
Super temp is also faster off the rail to 10km
I would take the Tonka over the F-4S. F-4S is very good though.
My freind has the f4s and says its good but i havent personally flown it, however i have flown the fg and ej kai and can safely say an f4 fm (even without the agility kit) is better than the tonkas sadly. Do i think the F4s is better or worse than the tonka? No, they are about the same with the f4s just fitting the meta more with its better fm. The skyflashes are quicker but ive found they miss quite alot, but i guess this is an issue with these sarh missiles as the f/m have the same problem so maybe its just that ive had more time with skyflashes so have had more time to have trouble with it.
The vertical acm mode helps but if im in that situation in the tonka im dead anyway as you lose so much speed for not alot of turning the f4s will win 9/10 times you get in that situation as long as you have equal or near equal energy going in.

Now it shares a BR with its direct upgrade and there’s literally no point in taking it.

i remember seeing confused comments when that br change took place
its literally just a random change with no rhyme or reason

The J29F should be 8.7.
It’s flight performance is simply not good enough for 9.0, because it doesn’t have a great turn rate because it can’t pull more than 8-10gs, climb rate, energy retention, or acceleration. The Swift F.7, G.91, Lim-5, and the Cl-13 Mk 5 are all better planes at a lower BR.

Gaijin should be doing some sort of justification behind most BR changes they do and don’t do, because it’s unacceptable right now. I really want to see someone at Gaijin justify the BRs of something like the 11.7 Tornados or most 12.0 tanks.
