[Discussion] Balance, Bias, Matchmaking and Battle Ratings

I am bored so i will make a list of things gaijin will have to fix in order for me to continue paying for anything.

Br ranges for both air and ground
Increasing max air br from 14.3 to 17.0 (at least) and increasing max ground br from 12.0 to 14.0. I am not gonna even talk about the cliff that separates 13.0 and 13.3 because of fox3 missiles.

Br adjustments being done with global average instead of top 20% is inherently bad (the percentage is a topic of discussion but i would say at least 40 is needed) of players.
People dont need to be good at the game, but a br of a vehicle has to be justified. This can only happen if we look at the data that come from people who knows what they are doing in the game.

Ammo simulations are broken
Ghost shells, wonky physics with weird angles, impenetrable rotten oak planks by apfsds because they are part of buildings or obstacles… Yea.

Quality of life when new vehicles are unlocked
Free fpa/spare parts/chaff is needed to play the game properly, until these are unlocked game is not played but suffered.

Crew abilities and camos are just cashgrab and useless gatekeepers to actual gameplay
For air the pilots g tolerance and stamina and for low br the awareness and keen vision, for ground the driving/targeting/reloading are decisive of the victor in 1v1 situations. Literally pay to win.

Sound engine is just broken
not being able to hear non rendered enemies even if they are 5m away
shit sound design is also in the list (mods do better job than gaijin)

What i will say is that until all these issues are fixed i will not be spending another penny on this game.

why do F-16AJ and sq F-16A OCU at the same BR in air RB?

Move the pay to lose kfir canard to 10.3.

Has no business being 11.0 or even 10.7.

Balance maps if you have numbers winratio for all modes. Today i play Carpathians on South side with one point in south east. Enemy can rush freely to that point or even to exit from the spawn. After remake of map, south can’t go around to hill to kill flankers or exit to base. I can show what i mean on replay: Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On

If you have statistics about where people drive and how many they kill there it is posible for that point is crucial to win…

I have the same problem. I hit the t72 in the autoloader and nothing happens. I hit the is2 in the ammo and nothing. Today I hit the panther in the ammo and the ammo turned red and disappeared and nothing. I even hit the M247 in the ammo twice and nothing. Today I hit the apds directly in the ammo in the Vickers Mk.1 and nothing happened. He turned around and hit me in the belt with HEATFS and my ammo on the Typ74 exploded. It’s broken after the last update. And the same goes for 2000lbs and 4000lbs bombs at sea that don’t do anything to destroyers!

For me personally:
F6F-5N 4.3 — > 3.3 or 3.7 (heavier but more firepower with x2 20mil and x4 50cals)
VB.10C-2 = 4.7 — > 4.0 (same as VB.10C-1 but heavier with x4 50cals)
yak-3 4.3 — > 4.7 (complete monster with the “poor ammo quantity” barely a downside and being strong in late-game AND in early game by climbing while also having lower repair cost than most 4.3 fighters)
Wyvern 4.7 — > 5.7 (c’mon is just obvious, no planes manages to upset even its own teammates, insane speed combined + 4 hispano MK.V cannons leads to a untouchable plane, not in the right hands only but also on anyone that doesn’t go “I gotta hold “S” to win”.
Sakeen 3.3 — > 2.7 (gaijin tries very “hard” to keep this plane at rank III, it just can’t. Maybe if they add more israeli wacky sherman modifications they can justify lowering it, but it will never line up a shot without sneaking around, and that powerplant is not making it easier, and mg151/20 is the worst 20mil, bad ballistics + questionable damage somehow)
g.55 serie 1 5.0 — > 4.7 (+0.7 BR for just replacing 2 12.7mm for mg151/20s is kind of overkill)
Me 410 B-6/R3 “strike” — > “Interceptor” (give it the same airspawn as the previous 410s and since it doesn’t have the climbrate of a BF-110, (which if you want to hunt bombers you have no problem doing so since it has a decent climbrate). If the 30mil hvap belt was the reason for the strike classification just make that belt more SP expensive)
Do-335 A-1 and A-0 + 0.3 BR (im not lying but I used them and they are so easy to abuse, I feel bad, insane firepower, climb and speed)
Ki-44-I 2.7 — > 3.3 (just absurd man, japanese 12.7mil are no joke and you put that already strong airframe at -0.7 BRs lower because instead of 4 it has 2?)

All of the zero line could get the compression issues it had in real life and could come down (IDK if A7Ms also had this issue)

Also belts are also a balancing tool, the BF-109 E-3 not only has no minengeschoß rounds but it’s belt is filled with junk (FI-T and FI), the APHE is actually the best round but it has the worst velocity, only having 120 rounds for 2 cannons doesn’t help.

In my experience, 5.0 long range bombers like B-17E/L, Me 264, M.B.162 are pretty decent if you hold a 10 degree climb and 90% of the time they ignore you since you will be like +5.5km alt instead of 4.8 km or lower (easy snack before main furball). maybe M.B.162 could get a little more SL multiplier, it’s repair it’s way too close to the SL you can make from a bombing run (payload for 1 base btw, but insane speed and climb compared to bombers). Bombers just need a way to not be forced to drop +5km in alt to rearm, they take forever to do so and leaves them EVEN more vulnerable if they try another run).

P.108 also doesn’t struggle, maybe noob hyperfixating on the “easy kill” but that’s it.

Pe-8 is just awful, slow, VERY SLOW, no decent climb, but it got a lot of bombs, simpleplanes levels of payload. feels risky putting at 4.0 but maybe BF-109 F-4, P-38s and XP-50s can still prove a menace to it

G5N1 and british bombers from 4.0 and 5.0 can’t provide since I don’t have them, I wonder why they have lower spawns (3.5km alt) specially the landcaster, ain’t that dude ̶s̶h̶o̶o̶t̶ ̶d̶o̶w̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶F̶-̶1̶4̶ supposed to be next to the B-17?

if gaijin remembers to actually use repair costs and rewards as balancing tools (cough, cough 9K repair on bf-109 K-4) it would be appreciated.

that’s all, I heard early jets are horrible to play but im still preparing my SL banks to buy my first jet (Me-262 A-1a since it was the first I could buy so it’s going to be the first I play)

PS: I have played the Me-262 A-1 and realized, is DOGS###, DOOKIE EVEN, the attrocious RP required for mods and measly increase in RP bonus doesn’t help

VT5 stock grind is such a pain. Most of the time I face premium players in MBTs that have every advantage over me, while I struggle to penetrate them with HEAT-FS, have lower mobility, no protection, low-penetration APFSDS, and the thermal sight and laser rangefinder modifications are placed too high tier. The laser rangefinder should be tier II at most so I can at least snipe more easily.

I just got the thermal sight a moment ago because I kept scouting.

Yeah, this game has become WoT 2. Watch your shot produce no spalling, your ammo vanishing without any explosion, your shot magically disapearing thx to volumetry … this game is so full of RNG now that i don’t know how they can call themselves “esports ready”

i hate how people don’t even care to talk about the bs that ultimately makes the game incredibly unfun

people immediately chimpout when there is a flag missing from a completely optional and clientside ui element but never make a sqeak when the game straight up has a completely RNG element tied to one of the most important damage model parts

Always has been except the modules have hit points and enough destroyed modules can destroy the tank.

This game is not realistic

Used to be way more than it is now.

That’s how it works IRL lol

The Tu-14 should have it’s BR reduced to 7.7 or even 7.3 because of how slow it is relative to the IL-28, and every other fighter at and below it’s BR. It can only reach 800kmh at sea level (850kmh for the IL-28), and 700kmh IAS/800kmh TAS at 3000m (925 TAS for the IL-28). It doesn’t offer any major improvements in offensive/defensive armament, flight performance, or bomb load either.

It’s also slower than extremely common enemies even when downtiered such as the F-80A/C, F-84B/G, and most other 7.0-8.0 planes let alone the planes it faces just 0.3 higher.

please move the su7 back to 9.3 already. it genuinely feels like gaijin is artificially putting strong ass supersonics to 9.0 every now and then like when we had the q5 running around slamming people just to spite sabre enjoyers

Grinded french coastal recently

The only thing i could think during that grind was : why are Marne (tanky ship with coastal spawn and 6x100mm guns + 2x65 mm guns and an ok top speed of 38-39 kph) and VLT-1 (a not tanky PT boat with 2 meh torpedoes and 2 40mm bofors) sitting at the same br of 3.3 ?
