Though conversation ive had with @Beeschurger makes me think the PL-8Bs are actually very very good, so not having R-73s isnt necessarily a bad a thing

But this is Gaijin we are talking about, Loadouts feel like they done by lucky dip and not based upon any actual policy most of the time

PL-8Bs are actually very very good

R-73 beats it at knifefighting distance and 9Ms IRCCM is better for (relatively) long range shot, but at medium range fast time to target and continuous tracking makes them very good imo.

And with careful use of AoA button you can use them even at the dogfighting range.

this is a thread about TSS, referring to the tournament scene, in which the Su-30SM2 is not part of any lineup :) (luckily)

Then leaving the R-73 a side, yes, the J-11B is better in the ratefight, but those dont happen much on 2v2 or 4v4s, and for BVR you have the Su-27, the J-10 is a push plane in tournaments, with the help of the radar is just way better for that role.

Yes, but the problem is just as much if not more of an issue in the wider, actual game and I kinda feel that that should actually take the priority.

Or better modeling for aircraft damage models including wiring to the wings, which is easily destroyed and thus prevent weapons being fired as well as modeling any and all G induced by the flat spinning, if its severe enough, it could cause G-lock and also prevent you from firing. Couple with much better damage models overall, with aircraft far more frangible than they currently are, and perhaps some damage buffs to AAMs as Im sure many are underperforming in that regard… the issue goes away. T…

would be fair and universal and fix both tournemants and actual games alike.

Nothing would be more stupid or annoying than them fixing it for tournements and not fixing it for everywhere else

i mean PL-8B is probably the best IRCCM missile ingame if we talk about range and maneuverability combined, while R-73 is better for dogfights and classic russian launches at 90º where the magic is done.
i have never entered in a Tournament, but i feel that having short-range and very maneuverable weaponry is way better than long-range bs like the AMRAAM.

wouldn’t be surprised if there’s no american main playing Tournaments even with that sweety and tempting rewards (waiting to see if i get a place in the top screenshots montly competition so i can get at least 300 GE).

The F-18 is played, but you have the MLU 2 at sweden, so there is no reason to play USA, at least until they ad the F-15C GE
