I sure hope we’ll see them… Otherwise that would mean the end for one of my favorite projects to be cancelled before it would be completed, the Mitsubishi JF-210.

Mitsubishi JF-210, cancelled due to US political pressure on Japan forcing a fear of budget constraints. In the end, the F-2 that became of the FS-X project in its place wasn’t less expensive, but did result in a rather one sided cooperation with Lockheed.
What was actually built of it, or at least part of it since in addition to the radar arrays a wing section was also completed. I couldn’t find the image though.
It’d be a very unique aircraft, with multiple AESA radar arrays, but no ARH missiles. Instead it would be limited to SARH AIM-7F/M.
It would also incorporate reduction in RCS, partially throughRAM that was later also used on the F-2. While this doesn’t make it a stealth aircraft it does make it a rather low visibility aircraft similar to a Rafale.
We’d also end up with a general lack of flavor once we get to 5th gens and most nations are slinging around the F-35, so I feel like a few more nation specific, yet unfinished, projects could end up as necessary in those higher ranks especially.
