Dagor Engine future 7.0 / 7.5+ updates?

this post is about discuss dagor engine and futures improvements !

The last major Dagor Engine update for War Thunder was Dagor Engine 6.5, released on 21 March 2022 alongside the Wind of Change update
[Development] Dagor Engine 6.5: new graphic features - News - War Thunder

last update was in 2022 for game engine

my expectations for Dagor Engine 7.0 / 7.5

1-dynamic weather / dynamic fog
New human rigs?! custom directions for crew like hats or custom event crew good for battles passes and events as rewards.

that’s old image
2- building destruction 2.0
[Development]Destructible environment - News - War Thunder i hope they bring it back but ( optimized )
3- custom hanger edit / sky box without user model
4-New water physic / under water physic for submarine
5-better optimization for ray tracing
6-hand tracking support for VR
7-new Grass!? could be already in game
8-better rendering
9-animated background / profile icons?!
10- better AI ( could be useful in events )
11-new tools for custom battles / more mod tools for custom battles owner ( custom battle need more love and more tools to help owners put mods without people using same account.

some could be already supported in the 6.5 engine
i wish if gajin give updates about their plans for next engine updates to !

mostly am looking for animated background / profile icons and building destruction

future belong to lord snail

cheers

please keep the discussion civilized and respect each other opinions !!!

would like to hope for bigger maps in air sim…

VR hand tracking and dynamic weather would both be amazing additions

WT actually has semi-dynamic weather where after spending around two hours in a mission, the clouds will shift

Wanna know my expectations for 7.0 / 7.5?

The most basic RT/SS functionality that quite literally every other game made within the last half decade has.

Doesn’t the game already have ray tracing?

Wdym more FPS improvement, the game is getting FSR4 and can run on a potato with an HDMI plugged into it

I usually get around 150 fps with ray tracing on a 5070ti, I think fps is fine (without dlss))

I miss the destruction of buildings the old engine had but I understand that it would kill performance on the new one lol

i am not good with pc stuff but when i use ray tracing my pc don’t have good time

What specs are your pc

how do i check that XD?

If you’re on windows just go to task manager, click performance tab and then take a screen shot of the left side of the app, that’s the easiest way. For me I just use hard ware monitor but I’m not gonna ask you to install a third party app just for specs

Would love this but I can’t see it happening since they are currently making a dedicated VR game, Aces of Thunder.

There’s some things I’d love to see though if Dagor is ever updated again like:

  • Replays have a proper rewind feature not just go back to certain segments.
  • Add the ability to change user skins in replay mode/add them to other aircraft.
  • Some actual PvE missions like this suggestion - DCS inspired PvE mode for air battles

Can you click on the gpu and then take a screen shot of that entire app? You can see the start of it but it’s cut off

9070 is a pretty solid gpu, it’s about on par with my 5070ti. That’s weird, what fps do you get on war thunder with rt?

without ray tracing 400 to 500 with ray tracing 100fps and lags and sometimes crash
