Dagor Engine future 7.0 / 7.5+ updates?

without ray tracing 400 to 500 with ray tracing 100fps and lags and sometimes crash

Do you have all your drivers updated?

It looks good… it’s odd you’re getting stutters in ray tracing. Maybe make a topic in this area and support will help you?

Yeah don’t worry same exact thing happens to me, when using ray tracing it’s stutterland + crashing after a short time
I highly recommend you not to use it

I would like to see dynamic elements;

Moving side skirts, soft-looking rubber, thr Merkava chains, etc.

Move to a engine that allows realistic boat and ground vehicles physics instead of the mess people has to cope with everyday could be a good start.

The only thing i want from this game is bigger maps for RB ground. Red desert only appears in very high br leaving only maginot and fulda for 8.0-10.3 that have fire lines over 1.5km. And even then, fulda has been shrunk. 90% of maps are designed for ww2 tanks and smaller engagement ranges while single cap point games shrink maps even further. Its like trying to fight with sniper rifles in an elevator.

It would be great to see some engine improvements indeed. Seeing older maps being reworked gives me hope that engine update might also be on the way.

Just what you said and a bit more.

1. Dynamic weather and new weather effects.
Thunderstorms with lightning, hurricanes, typhoons, sandstorms, heavier rain and snowfall, morning fog, and all of it enhanced with immersive ambient sounds.

2. Higher-quality clouds with increased voxel density.
This would add dynamic rolling clouds and a greater variety of cloud types. The current clouds look like low res blobs, which isn’t very appealing, especially when flying near them.

3. Larger render distance and more detailed terrain.
This is particularly noticeable on aerial maps and outside the main ground maps, where you can see triangular mountains and other low-poly environment.

4. Improved smoke shaders.
Currently tank engine smoke on darker maps looks unnaturally bright, as if it’s glowing. Smoke from shells and grenades appears as flat gray blobs, lacking proper shadows and depth.

5. Improved grass shaders.
Grass currently lacks self-cast shadows and doesn’t receive shadows from nearby grass props, which makes it stand out unnaturally and sometimes appear as if it’s glowing, similar to the smoke shader issue. This is especially noticeable along roads, where the contrast is very strong and the grass often clips through the terrain without any smooth light transition.

6. Environmental destruction with more impactful effects.
This could include enhanced structural destruction (buildings, bridges, tunnels, etc.) that affects map layout and gameplay.
Other environmental destruction could also add depth, such as rock or snow avalanches triggered by bombs on mountains, which could reduce visibility, destroy structures, create debris or open new routes and elevated positions. Many maps already feature mountainous terrain, making this potentially an interesting mechanic.
Additionally, smaller immersive details could include tiles falling from rooftops or snow dropping from trees after a tank shot or nearby explosion.

a couple things I will say

  1. The destruction blog was neat at the time but honestly does not fit WT
  2. Ray tracing while neat is just a lesser option of path tracing so if you want that kind of look you need path tracing which when optimized will be overall better
  3. Animated profiles and backgrounds are iffy, rn we have a plague of AI generated slop pfps that somehow have made their way into the game (motolady and snowboarder are examples of this) along with the oversmoothing and “upscaling” of older pfps that made them look way worse
  4. We really need server side clouds, they way they work rn is just horrid, we did have dynamic clouds a while back now, they looked awful in the way they were added
  5. Naval would need a ground up rework for water physics to really matter

Honestly I can only see a new version coming with the Infantry which somehow is a thing that is coming apparently, despite being posted right before April 1st. Also we need far better underwater sea terrain for when Subs come

What part of

Insinuated that the game doesn’t have ray tracing?

Perhaps something like engine upgrades which would allow regenerative steering or proper missile lofting?
