Custom flags functionality

I don’t know, can’t find any info.

So, I made a suggestion about 7 hours ago on adding the ROC flag. How long does it take for suggestions to be approved?

Depends, mine took a couple days while some people are still waiting. If it disappears from Drafts (or wherever it was) and you have ghost ping in the 4box section, then it was rejected. You need to message a suggestion mod to find out why.

also @JohnTitor71910 , message a suggestion mod to find out why it wasn’t accepted. It can be due to char. length, missing poll or other small reasons irrelevant to the actual suggestion.

I think I got a ghost ping but then again, I wrote it all in one stint and I never saw it in drafts in the first place so who knows.

Because the user when that comment was made was using it as a insult !

things to change;

Free France flag was a revolution and a movement, not necessarily a national flag. Also that certain flags here are flags with vehicles not represented in game. EG the 3 Iranian flags but only one Iranian vehicle. Also missing minor nations (Venezuela → USSR, off the top of my head) and the Polish vehicle in the US TT is not technically Polish as an Operator Nation. If it was, there’d be 4 Polish Vehicles. It is essentially a skinned P-47M flown by a Polish man who was part of the US Air Force at the time.

Its Operator Nation is USA

This new functionality really confuses me. WHY would anyone want this?!?

its funny

To show their political stand while claiming that “This game will never be involved in POLITIC ISSUES”. Pathetic.

Let’s steer clear of politics thank you, it’s clear that certain individuals are incapable of controlling themselves.

Gives players more customisation options. Pity gaijin is currently limiting some for reasons they either refuse to explain, or are totally arbitrary.

Well, I can’t see it as other than a waste of development time that could have been used much better on something actually useful. :)

Well, gaijin already explained in bug reports.
Only national flags can be considered as a customize option, so as long as some regions still use certain flag as its regional flag, there will be no chance for that flag to be considered as a “historical national flag” I suppose.

I agree with that idea generally, there’s a lot of changes I’d have rather seen than this. Even changes that happen to address the same issue the custom flags were meant for in a much better way.

But…

Now we are stuck with this system, and just getting it removed isn’t realistic. So what needs to be done now is to improve on it and find ways to integrate it with the game better.

In this case that means not just selectively representing some nations, by giving those nations stuck with only military flags (Republic of China, South Vietnam, Weimar Republic, etc.) their national flags, and adding some indication for what nation goes where, since right now all this does is cause more subtree confusion than there already was.

If it is a illegitimate state, why are chinese players so eager to get RoC vehicles in the game? If its not a legitimate state then the vehicles shoudnt be added. The same goes for the flag, if you are so eager to get the vehicles, you should also accept the flag that they use.

well…Because it belongs to China, simple logic right?

but I want VN17,j10c and j11bg…

Well, it doesnt, because RoC is a illegitimate state. Its like saying vehicles with the >insert random islamic group< flag should receive representation ingame.

I’m not the one who decide that rule, the world does. And I see no hope for you to change that but good luck.

Nazis are using the German Empire flag, but that is included for being a historical nation.

However a historical nation that in the modern day is still selectively recognized as such and has not only a military in reality but even in the game is not? Even the modern day People’s Republic of China recognizes them at least as a civil war faction which, while not a nation, is something that gets a national flag anyways as seen on pre-1949 PRC vehicles using the PRC flag (before it was even a nation).
