I think you guys are misinterpreting him. He is not saying “don’t talk about the ROC flag as it is political”. In the topic, there was lots of removed comments talking about Japan in WW2 and the issues between the two Chinese states that had to be removed.

At that time, the so-called “CCP” didn’t really exist. What existed was only the Chinese Soviet Republic (CSR).
As for the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army, their contribution to fighting Japan was minimal at best. Some Japanese sources even suggest that they occasionally cooperated with the Imperial Japanese Army to attack the Nationalist forces (KMT).
