It would be great if the developers publicized vehicle performance metrics, but they don’t. With that said does any one know of the current stats when it comes to the recently added vehicles, and nation balance at top teir?
Or the best way that the player base currently tracks it?

any currently available data (WTLive) is currently out of date. The last available data set is for 12/12-12/15, the 12/15-12/18 data set (post-update) should be available soonish.
Issue with that is that it is thunderskill. I would love to see a community project that tries to actively collect data. We need to start something to do it.

What the… what do you think Thunder Skill IS?
I signed up last year, it’s entirely a community driven effort. It’s not some elite group of WT players, its anyone who signs up.

True however, i do not think the average player who doesnt sweat over stats would know/care enough to sign up for it or update it often.
I stopped trusting it when i look on it and it said that the javelin had a 80% win rate.

the average winrate for a player on thunderskill is 54%. Again, this is pretty average. Not sweaty at all.
Still above average but fair. Just not a place for stats I would trust to determine if a nation or vehicle is op.

OK… and what would change if yet another community stat gathering site was started up? It’s the same idea, just under different management and a much smaller number of players giving you data (initially).
What i would imagine is something that would require a lot of work but give us gaijin-level data. Lets say we, as a community, want to see win rates for tankX. We comb through every players stats and average out the win rate for tankX.
Would be much better than data from a website that is not well known and often with out of date data. I played the game for years before i ever heard of thunder skill and i updated my data on it maybe twice so whatever i got on there is old.

I don’t think you understand how data aggregation works. What you’re suggesting is almost exactly what ThunderSkill does…

I guess my standards are just much higher than what thunderskill can provide. They have like what, 1% of players at most? And assuming that each players data is up to date as well for best case.
I know it probably doesnt matter for something like this but my mind just thinks “imagine if the 2024 election counts 1% of votes in each state and decides who the winner is from that”
Again, i know it is asking for too much but that is just how i am with these things.
So start looking up the stats of random teammates in your battles. Thunderskill is the most comprehensive dataset that we have.

I generally dont as i try to not stat shame. I just look at the raw stats of a vehicle and what experience i have fighting in/against them.
I didn’t say anything about shaming people for their stats or even bothering to read the results. If you’re concerned that thunderskill is skewed too much towards sweaty players, then do your part and start randomly adding the stats of random players to the pool.
Fair point. Would be a drop in the bucket but enough drops will add up over time
Holy cow are US top win rates horrible

I see that 1% of players stat thrown around quite a bit but I’d assume it’s based on Gaijin’s official “50 million players” number; and, that’s clearly not an accurate active player base so it’s probably a much larger percentage of the active player base. Even then, studies and the like in all fields are done with relatively small sample sizes compared to the actual population.
Thats also the thing. Thunderskill has a lot of stats for players who have not updated their stats in months if not years.
And some of the stats being outlandish causes me to not trust it. As mentioned earlier, I could of used thunderskill as proof that the javelin needs to be 9.0 because it had a 80% win rate.
Those aren’t really included in the 1 month stats for the vehicle even right now i think the Javelin is sitting at a 60% winrate for the month. The issue is definitely with non-meta vehicles as they just don’t see play and to an extent that seemingly is an issue with Gaijin’s own internal stat tracking; as just a dedicated squad can effect BR changes on less played vehicles. I’m not saying it’s gospel by any means but in particular it can give you an idea for trends. I’ve checked a handful of my own vehicles in popular lineups, including some top tier ones and my winrate %'s are within a few points.
Win rate manipulation would occur, so no. They should always keep it secret.
