Crew lock should be removed

There are some maps I dont want to play so I leave.

I won’t leave just because I don’t enjoy a map, however, sometimes you get locked into the same map for 3-6 games in a row. I just don’t have the patience to repeat a map after the 3rd full play through and I believe few people would happily suffer through it.

Also, I didn’t realize ThunderSkill ranks still worked. I got a 74.5% :D

If you add up all these reasons together that is a lot of people bailing.
I think in lower tiers it is two or three in nearly every game who leave without playing and maybe the same who do after one death.

One thing that is odd which I see is a player getting five kills or whatever, leading the game, then quitting after one death. What is that about?

Happens to me if I get a phone call, someone rings my doorbell, or I get interrupted some other way. I may also rage quit if I get killed in a way I feel is B.S. and I’m close to done playing for the day.

Ex. Someone is able to shoot through a chain link fence that’s 10m from their tank and kill me from a distance of 150m, but all of my shells are stopped by that same fence like it’s piece of magical, one-way, bullet proof material. Or, my tank is sitting on a random non-destructible bush in the middle of the map which starts jiggling my tank right as I’m attempting to shoot causing my shell to miss its target and my untimely death.

So much could be done to remove rage quitting. Hell , Gaijin could sit down with you, me and a couple of others on here and smash 70% of it overnight: )

Great idea marvelous i don’t know why none of us ever thought of that before as well. It’s almost as if levels mean nothing is nothing more than a way of showing your activity oh wait that is what it is.
Then your idea of nation-locking for 4 hours is also very smart. It’s almost as if the idea itself is flawed cause if someone rammed you, the WT server latency crashed you into the ground, and you randomly got disconnected from the match which gave you a nationwide lock. Do you know the issues that piss people off with crew lock? give you a hint read above.

lol unfortunately all of their time is spent fixing bugs that they’ve introduced/re-introduced and all of the regressions caused by a dev team that isn’t careful and QA which doesn’t perform full test coverage before the release manager push updates.

E.g. The machine gun on my T-34-85 seems to be able to do different amounts of damage based on the day of the week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays my machine gun can only take down bushes. On Thursdays I can shoot down thin trees. On Friday I can shoot down larger trees and short walls. On Saturday the odd bullet may take out a crew member in a light/medium tank and can now shoot down metal/concrete fences. On Sunday my machine gun loses all of its power and cannot shoot anything but bushes down.

I don’t understand how this could happen, but it does.

I get what you mean.It’s just firefighting by the Devs. Most of it is fixing bugs caused by the latest bug fixes and bugs caused by messing with something that didn’t need any fixing.No stability in this game.Actually correction,it’s one of the most stable games I own fundamentally ,the instability comes form the Devs constant tinkering.

One and done is one and done, doesn’t matter to me if I get got out of spawn or I have a double ace. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It should be your choice especially if you have premium.You paid to play.
Do they stop the clock when they refuse you entry for 8mins at a time?

It’s your choice even if you haven’t spent a dime on the game, your obligations are to your kin, not strangers on the internet.

Could you clarify your question? I’ve never paid much attention to crew lock time tbh, I just jump to another nation or watch Youtube for a little bit if I’m wanting to play one vehicle specifically.

If you do pay to play then you lose 8 minutes of time you paid for every time right? so they are possible conning you out of time you paid for. Like when the server goes down and you cant play. Add all those 8 minutes up and you be losing a lot of time form your 15 days subscription or whatever.

Precisely. Could you imagine if games like Counter Strike suffered from the same issues? Nobody would want to play and there would be no hope to create a league around a game that’s always in flux. I could understand making big changes when introducing a new set of vehicles (e.g. BR 12+) with accompanying maps if the existing ones are too small, etc., as long as the updates don’t impact the entire ground player base. But, all changes in WT are global sweeping changes. E.g. Devs notice that BR 10 suffers on Tunisia, but instead of changing the map for that BR we get a massive redesign that will impact ever BR. It’s lazy.

Depends. If I try to play some crappy map to avoid crew lock, often I just stop playing war thunder after that map because I lost all motivation for that day. So in this case 8 minutes break seems like better option. For context I play exclusively one tank lineup and even with just one tank lineup I prefer to take brake than yolo rush on crappy maps like Red Desert. Most of premium time is wasted anyway as it is not tied to your time in game but fixed real time range.

it’s just a statistic that doesn’t mean anything… You can play btr/xm800 and make assists or something else and make a lot of kills

Still wondering how they determine whether to crew lock you. I’ve died early in matches and somehow dodge getting crew locked, but oh i killed 3 dudes and managed to snag a air kill and leave afterwards because it’s not worth spawning to get CASed instantly? Welp, there goes my remaining crews getting locked for minutes. Like why? This doesn’t even stop me from playing since i can just switch nations for a match.

If enemy is visible near your spawn, you can leave without crew lock(do not apply on vehicles where you killed yourself). If 8 minutes of battle passed, you can leave without crew lock so the crew lock is always applied only when you leave before this timer passes and is only applied on vehicles you could spawn in(backup does not count) or vehicle where you killed yourself. Crew lock is not applied on vehicles you could not spawn due to not having enough spawn points. Reserve vehicles cannot get crew lock at all so even if you spawn and leave vehicle you will not get crew locked.

I learned this by observation and you can use it to your advantage.

If you do not want to spawn and you are in battle over 8 minutes you can leave without worries. I mostly use this on battle mode where game just get stale in late game.

If you do not want to play map at all and you do not want crew lock, you can use reserve vehicles to get rid of spawn points. There is also trick with heli or plane as if you leave those vehicles on airfield/helipad while you are fully repaired, it does not count as suicide so it will not receive crew lock and those vehicles can reduce spawn points fast to the point you cannot respawn anymore with anything else.

Spawn rushers are also your friend if you do not want to spawn anymore. When you see there is enemy constantly spotted on spawn map, you can just leave. Sometimes if you see one side was steamrolled, you can wait for a while for enemy to get to you spawn so you can leave without crew lock.

I wanted to play WT today. Unfortunately crew lock is haunting me. China F16MLU, because of 4th gen fighters I fly low, the game catches PL and I crash - 5 min in the hangar. Then, because you have to be a masochist to fly this piece of junk I switched to F5E, similar action, 15 sec freeze and another crash.

I really want to spend some time in the game, but staring at the clock in the hangar is a bit lame.

Why we still have this crap active?

This needs to get passed to the devs, who cares about new game content when you hate playing the game? Gaijin should focus more on making the game actually playable and enjoyable than adding a new Top tier jet that most players will not get.

In your opion is that “One Spawn Quiting” is okay because regardless the reason one side overrun don’t make sense at all because depend the map means you get easy kill because you know they location on the map. You are promoting One Spaw Quiting.
