Crew lock should be removed

100% agree, or at least for people who are max-uptiered with their highest vehicle. until they fix why they broke the uptiering so much that i never get a game at my own br anymore, it actually encourages you to only bring 1 crew -heres my standard game in general

if i’m playing at 11.3 and only one of my vehicles is 10.3 (excluding aa) then obiously going to quit after the first vehicle goes down, especially with the ecconomy at high tier

Had a map on the Weekend, tried to risk it while 2-3 people quit instantly. Despite going 50kph I got completely wrecked leaving my spawn by enemies just shooting from their Spawn.

Also, don’t hate the Game, hate Gaijin.

Case right now:

Stock grind T80B. No thermals, no parts for repair. First battle - big version of Poland at BR 11.3. Game would be painful.
But i just quit, i got crewlock, so i’ll watch something on youtube and i’ll just try again in couple minutes.
I see no reason to punish myself with game that’s supposed to bring me fun after hard day.

I think crew lock for an adult grates because it reminds us what a woke world of punishment we all live in now.You can’t just dislike something in reality any more ,you must be punished for disliking it ,you cant have a challenging or opposing view to the mainstream, you have to be punished for it then you get home,lock the door ,put on a game and **** me you are punished like a kid all over for simply leaving early in game you may be paying to play.

Its just need the BS and I react angrily to Crew lock and Gaijin hitting me with the nanny state.I bought the X box to escape that s***

Would anyone be interested in being able to spawn a vehicle multiple times (before using backups) if it was the only vehicle in the lineup? Nothing completely outlandish, it’s something the M-51 has for example. Would you think this would keep more people in a match to help grind vehicles?

Currently, backups are so scarce that it becomes tedious to manage your backups to maximize their usage, especially while grinding out vehicles.

No idea why people keep pretending that crew lock does something useful

With horrible map design to start with + awful “stupidization” changes to many maps that happen lately roughly 70% of maps are barely worth spawning once. Quite a few aren’t worth spawning even once. You can have up to 10 nations, leaving + switching nation + going through queue will take you 30 seconds, why would anyone bother with playing on maps they don’t like? Whoopty doo, one nation is locked, now I only nine more to choose between … oh, the horror!

Or, option B, spawn once + suicide rush towards enemy, maybe you’ll get kill or two or some assists, maybe it’ll even work and you’ll do well, even if it doesn’t and you get destroyed that just means you’re out of the battle really fast and the destroyed vehicle very conveniently isn’t crew-locked so you can go to next battle (with only one vehicle available, so congratulations, Gaijin just made sure that in the next battle you certainly won’t use more than one vehicle thanks to crew lock, even if you’d for some crazy reason wanted to). And isn’t it convenient that the repair rework means you can’t lose SL if yo have premium account & even without premium account you only pay tiny fraction of repair cost if you get killed enough? Almost looks like Gaijin is steering players towards leaving fast …

And even reward system pushes players towards only using only one vehicle … 50-70% of RP reward comes from “time played”, which resets every time your vehicle is destroyed, so going into next battle is almost always far better option - unless you want to bet on random chance that with your 2nd spawn vehicle you not only will get lucky enough to do something but also that battle will last long enough + you’ll stay alive long enough for it to actually be worth the time. Because if any of those two doesn’t pan out, congratulations, you just pointlessly wasted time.

Yes, I personally would like a free second spawn. I sometimes 1DL for the sole reason that the vehicle I wanted to spade got shat on in the early Match due to trash Maps and whatnot, only 60 Score, vehicle lost for the rest of the match. Why bother staying around? I got no Progress done on my desired vehicle and cannot use it again.

Just don’t limit backups to be used only once in battle and make them available for silver.

You bought premium tank and have only one high tier tank - no problem. Just buy a s*tload of backups for 10k silver each, and respawn 5 times with same tank in battle.

  1. Gaijin is happy because people are spedning their silvers, making them grind more
  2. You are happy, because you keep playing
  3. Other players are happy, because you are not ODL

There - ODL problem solved.

Unfortunately some sort of punishment for players leaving too soon is necessary. Without crew lock you will end up with games where players would leave immediately because they do not like map or BR spread. Crew lock at least motivates players to spawn one vehicle meaning there is at least some action at start of the match. Leavers without deaths are quite rare to see.

BR spread could be fixed to some degree but there will always be players that have to be on top with their vehicle or they will simply not play without crew lock.

On the other hand maps cannot be fully fixed as this is highly dependent on preferences of user. More ban maps would help but it could be problem for MM to try creating games thanks to differences of preferences of players in queue. And without crew lock it would be even more work for MM.

This is why I understand why crew lock exists and why it wasn’t changed in years.

I would personally benefit with crew lock removal as I would not have to play any large or winter map, but I can also see how this would affect me on maps I like, because other players may not like those.

Tbh the argument with more/less mapbans and this increasing the queuetime is a bad argument. Maps are on one hand already limited by BR, giving more mapbans wouldnt impact the MM more that it already does. For example by now I´m so fed up with being forcefed urban maps that if I die once in a BS way because the enemy wasnt rendered due to a fence or whatnot I simply leave.

If I could atleast ban lets say 10 maps so that I have atleast a greater variety of maps where I can atleast have varying gameplay I´d stay longer in matches. Being sent from Seversk to Iberian Castle to Abandoned town and from there to Alaska and American desert is on the same fun level as waterboarding.

When games such as CoH2 (around 4k players) with approx 15 maps in the 3v3 and 4v4 pool can have up to 5 mapvetoes without impeding the MM too much then WT can have 15-20 Mapbans and maybe 10-15 dislikes with its 150-200k players at peak times.

WT has nowhere near the numbers of the top 20 PvP games if you google it.WT cant diversify too much due to a relatively low player base despite what moderators try to say.You dont for example have the numbers to do a tank only mode.

Crew lock should be the punishment for team killing

I am told it helps combat bots what ever that means. Whether it is even there for ODL I don’t know and as usual there is nothing official from Gaijin either way so we are left to come to our own conclusion on it.

It has the numbers for a niche game, its in the same category as Company of Heroes 2 (RTS) in terms of players and MM. At CET 18h there are around 120-150k people online of which around 65k come from Steam. If we´d divide the number now by 6 in terms of modes then we still have continously 20k-25k per mode. This gives around 625 matches at any given time during prime time for 32 player matches. So basically there are enough numbers to give more mapbans.

Alternatively to mapbans just introduce 70 more maps with combatranges above 1km so there is more playstyle diversity. Currently we have 73 maps of which 68 have combatranges below 600m and thats even for toptier. Not to mention the stupid speedbump maps.

The only reason why there is no “Tank only mode” is simply marketing because then nobody would buy the prem Groundpounders anymore and it would be a hell to balance e.g. T95, Tortoise and Jagdtiger would be probably at BR 8.3/8.7 due to GJ´s philosophy of everything needs to be able to pen everything frontally.

In short GJ absolutely could but they chose frustration as a marketingscheme…

I find it hard to believe that there is so much dissatisfaction with the game and nobody is leaving. So much hate for the way the game is changing and nobody is storming off? we know from the forum this is not true.

Gaijin have said map bans play havoc with game waiting times,the player base are all ways using the fracturing of the player base as an excuse for no TO.As for ODL many are saying that it is destroying top tier and that they have very small teams at top tier
presumably due to lack pf players.

Certain moderators come on with aggressive attitudes to shoot hearsay down yet nothing formal is released so it is hardly surprising the forum is awash with guess work and conspiracy theories. I am told the rival games has lost a boat load of players due to recent activity and I can see waiting times up on certain servers now.

Hard to know what to think.In the modern age we should have more communication.

Started flanking, drove to far, got killed by timer. And i recieved 7mins crewlock for it.
