Crew lock should be removed

They dont prevent it though they just add a third issue.

It’s actually funny how you took all the facts I wrote in my post and presented them as my opinion.

But when in whole my post I wrote just one opinion:

You ignored it completely.

You are attacking the wrong person. I’m not responsible for how the whole system is designed.

I didn’t ignore it, but saying something is silly is outweighed by saying you have no doubt we need crew lock.

We wouldn’t need crew lock if people didn’t have so many reasons to leave in the first place.

I would love to read your suggestion how to fix all the maps in the game, so every single player would like them. That would be actually something great. I’m sure even Gaijin would appreciate such suggestion and implement it immediately.

Like we established already, you can’t please everyone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try. Do you think maps are as close to perfection as possible so that nothing more can be done and the real issue is just that ‘you can’t please everyone’ ?

I could write out a flawless, perfect plan in great detail and the chance is greater that I’ll get banned for it than that snail will actually do anything with it, they’re not even active on these forums.

I’ve requested in the past to have a way to be in more direct contact with the devs as a community, but they were too busy to spend 5 minutes a week or a month to be here… so if you ever needed an example as to what the core issue with this game is, the fact that devs cannot free up time for the people they make the game for, as if communicating with the community takes up too much time from the real important stuff like ruining the UI, the maps and the 20th change to sounds.

Getting punished after being spawn camped 5 minutes into the game and leaving after dying for the 3rd time is just a joke.

It’s Gaijin creating the horrendous maps, it’s Gaijin in charge of the matchmaker.

I guess if somebody has crew lock it means they are already in a state of unhappiness with the game.Adding Crew lock just compounds the misery and builds up hatred for the game and its makers.So yet again Gaijin make a rod for their own back.They just can’t help themselves.

I am just wondering what the payback from the player base will be.No company has a right to a dedicated fan base,they have to earn it and if they can earn it they can lose it.

Since crew lock is frankly just an annoying inconvenience, I’m surprised premium account users aren’t exempted from it, tbfh.

As the OP said, it doesn’t do its intended job at all. Why keep it?

That “perk” could serve as a testbed to see how it affects the game, then if nothing truly awful happens, it could be extended to everybody.

I agree with you completely lose crew lock and encourage staying till the end.
Upon watching replays and my experience it is amazing how many players have a bad start then go on to win or get top 3.

Saying that if I so much as see a red line narrow map I am gone out of protest and if I am punished the game goes off and Gaijin lose a player.

Ah yes, highly intelligent suggestion. This will definitely not hurt the game.

I’m sure they will come up with a way to monetize no crew lock with Premium time Plus or something

And having 12 teammates on 1 death and 0 assist/cap/kills doesnt hurt the game. LOL .
It’s just a joke that crew lock is 9min/ long as match goes. And people are just abusing it on 1 tank lineups .

I completley agree too, i have a full 8.7 lineup in sweden and 99% of the time i get put with germany with those tam’s and they all die after rushing cap and after 5min its 5 people left, crazy and unfair…

What do you mean? I love getting crew locked after being sent to hanger through no fault of my own I should totally be punished when the internet decides I shouldn’t play war thunder at that specific moment.

On a serious note the crew lock system is heavily flawed it punishes people who are sent back to hangar as a result of crappy internet connection issues or the server hamsters killed over. It needs to be reworked or replaced it shouldn’t be punishing people who didn’t want to leave the battle.

However people who leave the battle after 1 or 2 deaths deserve to be punished there is no excuse for this behavior. Don’t bother building a line up if you’re just gonna refuse to use it because you threw a tantrum after getting killed once.

My reasons for ODL in any given round are as follows, in no particular order:

  • I have only one tank due to focusing on spading that one tank (particularly in the case of SPAAG where I basically rush cap, hose down light tanks with little to no armor, die, R&R)
  • Map is an overly campy mess where once the initial spawn wave’s survivors have pitched their tents and put out their fires, there is little point even trying to exit the spawn when there is high likelihood of someone sitting in view of the exit in many cases.
  • Prior vehicle death had prohibitively high SL cost, not willing to throw away more SL (some high BR heavies are still a bit much even after the changes) Separately I might spawn CAS after first tank death, but if that is also pricey then it’s really likely I’ll opt to leave after that dies.
  • My lineup had only one piece of viable uptier insurance, which was just killed. Why spawn something more when 8/10 times it’s uncompetitive cannon fodder, especially with city maps making there be no room to move and running into someone in a favorable angle being just dumb luck?

I may have others, but these are the main cases that instantly come to mind.

And I too hate all the narrow line maps.

Imagine how much more premium time could be sold if it came with a perk for limitless map bans.

Well we can all see you have considerable game experience so that kind of blows the “tantrum” aspect out of the water.I think that is juvenile players assuming everyone else is as petulant and stupid as they are.

Way I see it if the game is not working out for you then go. It can also happen that your line up no matter how extensive just does not fit the map,for example I had a full range of Russian vehicles with zero gun depression on an open desert map with nothing but rolling dunes and I could not even hit a Tiger 100 meters in front of me without revealing myself on top of the hill.Plain to see I was on a hiding to nothing so I pulled it.No drama,anger just a calculated measure as you stated in your examples .Then I get 8 minutes out.So I just put another game on.

If Gaijin don’t want me to play then cool ,I wont.Not an issue.I was gone a week,I missed the sale I usually renew my Premium on so they lost that as well.

I dont need to be taught a lesson by a game I am paying for

Yeah, you are right, just get rid of those people, give thousands of players 4h crewlock, so there is nobody to play with and MM just die

I also do this. I just simply ODL if i feel like it.
Or even i just straight up leave with not even one spawn if i don’t feel like playing full uptier on map i don’t like (thanks gaijin for ruining 10.3 MM)
