Have you spaded the JA37D? So you get the RP. Maybe you can try suffer a bit and spade the F-18C :)
HMD is one nice thing to have, so maybe you can get the MLU since you already started it and use the RP on that, and then grind the grippen line while spading the MLU (I think it gives 200k at least or something) and either continue with the MLU or go try the grippens.

Hm, well, I know the main weapons are radar guided missiles but IR missiles don’t have much evading options other than using terrain or outrunning it etc. so no notching or whatsoever. It’s okay if you can actually switch fast between chaff and flares though.

Yeah, my keybind for switching between flares and chaff are shift + d which makes it extremely quick as its right next to where my fingers lie

Woah, that’s the crew’s stats. Technically, the defensive armament does not do anything on top tier jets as there’s no secondary crew with weapons (like the bombers with multiple guns). What I meant is having all modifications unlocked on it, however, I must’ve not read correctly as it seems you’re using a premium vehicle, my fault. If you want to try, you can see if you can spade some of the already unlocked and crewed planes to get the additional RP.

ah, the ja37 is a premium so it automatically comes spaded also my f18c is spaded

Hmm then you can use the JA37 on the Tech Tree to get the MLU. Using the F-18C to grind the MLU is technically the best idea as it gives you 10% more of RP if I’m not wrong, but it is true that no HMD at that BR is a bit difficult to go with.

Do you mean Hard lock vs Soft? And as for range, maybe around 30kms? Maybe less. You can also see when the enemy throws them and see if you can stretch it a bit to actually increase the missile’s possiblity of hiting something.

Migan is a real one seriously i dont see people recommend him wnough hes very solid
Just my opinion but i would skip F18C MLU 2 and do the Gripen line first because Gripen E is miles better than F18’s, HMD and endless BOL is good but it wont change the gameplay significantly since you should be playing F18 from range and avoid getting focused and being ran down out of energy and into dogfights. aim-120c5 is the most notable upgrade for the mlu2 for extra range against maneuvering targets.
Id consider even getting F16AM and using that for grinding because its much more versatile and more favorable BR at 13.7 having 5-6 aim120’s (depends if you want more countermeasures with PIDS pylon and sacrifice one missile for it) good fast maneuverable airframe. its just easier and more fun to play than f18 imo. atleast up to Gripen C, i would maybe skip Gripen A because its fighting long range missiles all the time and its not very fun if youre not good at defending against those missiles.
another way would be using JA37C or D to grind the rest of Gripen line since they should be still decent.
