should i continue my grind for the gripen e or first get the mlu 2? I’m really suffering with the ja37di f21, my matches havent been going well and ive been struggling to even get a single kill in. this goes for the f18c too, its def a skill issue problem but im not sure what to do.
maybe you guys could pass on any tips on how to play?
Fly low when a missile is launched at you turn around or to the left or right
anything else? idk how to notch, nobody really explained it in a way i could understand
You will eventually reach both but E comes off as the better aircraft currently (and in the foreseeable future).
What seems to be an issue, i mean, specifically? How do you play the JA37Di?
you have to turn and flare or chaff
i usually stay low, try coming in from the sides/flanking but when i do that i barely get a kill, sometimes ill ascend but then get shot down because im not really sure on how to avoid fox3 missiles, i just chaff move around but it often doesn’t work and i get shot down
however i experimented and tried going really high (10,000-12,000m)
that worked out a little well for me in the beginning however i’ve started to get shot down a lot more now – i still turn and flare + chaff however that rarely works too lol
so basically my main issue is my aim120bs dont really hit their targets for some reason and that i constantly get shot down without knowing how to avoid missiles
Tbf what isn’t wrong with the Di lol okay ill leave

i’m really struggling out here, this jet def shouldn’t be 13.0, maybe 12.7
Compression problem, it wouldve helped if gaijin cared about swedish aircraft to actually try to add a solid 13.0 which they could have. Honestly id just skip the Di and grind with the JA37C, its okay for its BR. Its no ML grinder nor as brainless but it works once you get it.
Theres your issue.
Thats too high.
Anyway try sideclimbing to like 8km (or just below the contrail alt) and hold that alt, once you climb there turn to the battlefield and try to get as much speed as possible.
Dont know whats the max speed of JA37Di but im talking above mach 1.3 or as close as you can get.
Missiles dont like climbing that much. If you hug the deck constantly you wont have energy neccesary for both attack and defense.
Set your radar to TWS, bind a key to cycle through targets.
Look at targets that are coming somewhat at you, either 25km if they are high, 20km or less if they are lower.
Fire off an AMRAAM, keep guiding it with help of TWS until it goes terminal.
You can start cranking immidiately after launch (keeping the target at the edge of your radar gimball limit).
Take 1/3 flares, 2/3 chaff. Bind both separate release and combined.
In BVR use only chaff.
Now im aware thag JA37Di has some issues with RWR, so figuring it out is up to you. But what you want to do is to keep missile signal directly 90° to your left or right while chaffing. You can also change alt a few times for good measure once the missile signal vanishes.
yea the current 13.0s suck so horribly i cant even lie also i feel its crazy how you can just jump from 11.3 to 13.0/14.0

Tbf if he flies high hes dead too. The RWR is pretty buns, no way to properly notch unless you see your target.
The Di is just a far worse F4F at the same BR.
This is the RWR he gets lol
4 directions, no identification its the worst radar at 13.0. Nearly unusable for notching lmao. Its why i wont ever spade the Di especially after gaijin had to hand hold so many nations with these 13.3 prems lmao.

IMO i find having more energy way more beneficial than hugging the ground nowadays, but I digress.
Im aware that it isnt exactly good (or even mid). But AFAIK it should still pick up the neccesary signals and the 90° can be deduced with help of overlaping “sectors” no?
The sectors overlap by a decent amount, its enough that at range with a friend he was maybe stopping my R77 or AIM-120 maybe 20% of the time. Now my R27ER lol, nothing he could do against that. Basically MICA levels of notching required at times lol.
The Di is a vehicle that definitely needs its more niche upgrades to bring it up from being one of the worse 13.0’s
Notching is basically going perpendicular to the missile, so if the missile is going from North to South, you’d want to change your flight direction to East-West/West-East. You can also try to run away but that depends on how close the enemy is and where you’ were facing first. Having seen how the RWR is, it’d be hard to actually be of help but you want the missile alert to be either at the left or right of the circle, not in front, not in the back unless you can outrun it (you probably won’t be able most times unless the enemy is missing braincells/doesn’t know how to play/doesn’t know how to read the radar).
And chaff whilst going perpendicular too.
Well, OP is boned then lol.
