Cold war SPAAs and SPGs are broken and need to be raised in BR

First off, Spitfire Mk.22, Spitfire Mk.24, P-51H-5, F8F-1B, F7F-1, Ta 152 C-3, Yak-9UT, Ki-84 Hei, and the G.56 can all face the M163.

There’s also some event/prems and bombers but they don’t matter much.

Second off, the M163 should not be facing early WW2 and early post-war jets either.

eh with only 220mm pen the heat is still the better choice considering you have LRF

why?

Is that not fair? I don’t understand

In full downtier. The same could be said of 8.3 CAS facing M163.

In full downtiers it faces very late-ww2/post-ww2 planes, not early. Also I do not see any issue of this thing facing jets, just put a couple of dumb rockets or cannon rounds and dodge.

If you want m163 to be same br as prop planes? I see it fair as it is rn.

8.3 planes facing the M163 is perfectly fine. They’re pretty much exclusively subsonic jets with MCLOS missiles or ballistics computers.

meant to say late WW2 and early post-war, but my post stands.

“Just dodge all their attacks” isn’t a valid argument.

at 8.3? what mclos missiles are at 8.3 bro? and theres only a few with CCIP at 8.3 as well

when most radar SPAA can be avoided by just not flying in a straight line and/or staying low it kinda is a valid argument

With a me262 50mm can shoot a m163 easily or with the arado drop a bomb even far away than its maximum radar range.

So you think munitions that can be launched very far away be same br as a m163 with a 3km effective range at same br its fair?? No, thats why they are 1 br separated, thats how full downtiers and uptiers work.

SK60B and SAAB-105OE. Though tbf most MCLOS carriers are 8.7 or 9.0.

If “just dodge all their attacks” was valid then no1 would even be shot down.

Me 262 is just about the only plane that can reasonably take on an M163. Just because one singular plane can kill it does not make it balanced.

Yes, CAS should outrange SPAA. SPAA gets the luxury of using cover, and staying hidden until planes come within range.

Not to mention SPAA costs 1/10th the cost of CAS.

thats assuming everyone did it 100% of the time, which they dont

but also “just dodge their attacks” is oversimplifying it, its a lot to do with positioning around terrain and making quick and purposeful attacks and not dawdling over the battlefield

thats just not true, have you considered not flying directly at it in a straight line? plus there are loads of vehicles with bombs and rockets that you can lob or fire at it

plus, and youll never guess this one, the m163 only has a single gun so if you have another teammate in a plane you can overwhelm it and kill it easily

Basically any plane can win a fight against a m163 with 20mm or higher caliber. The ones with higher caliber or rockets have it easier. And yes, they can shoot even more than 3km away, with not that much bullet drop if you are diving (also more dmg).

So what stops me from killing other ground targets as tanks if spaa not gonna engage me??

It really depends a lot of when a cas should have more or less range than spaa

I meant just turn to the sides, not like 20mm its a fast round past 2-3km.

Its even possible to dodge 35mm rounds with a helicopter at 3.5km. Really depends in altitude, the higher the better.

Not if the M163 is sentient.

If you’re close enough to engage tanks you’re close enough to be shot down.

okay so its literally the same argument both ways

CAS is op is the CAS is sentient

SPAA is op if the SPAA is sentient

so nothingburger argument

An M163 will beat a WW2 Jet or prop of equal skill.

well thats just like your opinion,

personally i dont think i could shoot myself down if it were me in m163 vs me in me262 or meteor

This actually brings up another issue, CAS (as side from in SIM) is typically flown in 3rd person, that grants the pilot a FAR better FOV then they would have from the cockpit where they would have a massive blind zone, combine that with tracers being far to visible from the front and pilots have far better situational awareness then they would realistiacly.
Compression is of course an issue between CAS and SPAA, but that is by no means unique.

tbh i almost wouldnt be against CAS being pushed into first person in GRB

Worth it just to watch the meltdown TBH. But hey, if they want historical accuracy than actually sitting in the plane rather then floating along behind it dose fit the bill.

In a direct 1v1, sure. In an actual game where an M163 can go basically invisible by just sitting next to a destroyed tank or a building, you would lose.

If we’re going for historical accuracy, then I’d take stronger bombs, more accurate rockets, more effective strafing, stronger plane damage models (planes being able to survive multiple 30mm HE hits), no T 6 1, no spawn prot for SPAA, and SPAA being forced into 24/7 scope view cause floating cameras make no sense :D, in exchange for planes being forced into cockpit view.
