Cold war SPAAs and SPGs are broken and need to be raised in BR

The where nerfed due to inaccurate scaling, I cannot speak to the base damage but larger bombs scale more accurately now, A FAB-9000 has a documented kill radius of 57m for unprotected infantry… It would fk them up out to ~220m but it was survivable.

LOL, given the tank crews reaction to strafing was to close the lid and ignore it, sure

This is a legitimate issue in all modes, aircraft are ridiculously fradgile

Ahhh yeah, I’m sure nobody have ever gotten on the radio and called out a warning about aircraft with an alt and bearing.

You spend most of your time either zoomed into commander view or using binos anyway cuz if you look up in 3rd person you clip into the tank and can’t see shit anyway, so that isn’t the W you seem to think it is

You mean the bomb with less explosive mass than a FAB-5k and is mostly cement?

Lid? On open top tanks?

Ostwinds should not be surviving multiple 20mm HE rounds being dumped into their turret. 7.62mms should have hundreds of shots sprayed over a milk drug just to orange a couple guys.

It’s called the chatbox, and you can’t “call out” planes through mountains irl.

Commander view is fiction. No commander is floating above his tank, so gl spotting planes when you’re forced to look through your scope 24/7.

If CAS and SPAA were “realistic” then SPAA would be pretty much unusable in WT’s environment.

Still over 4 and a quarter TONS of TNT

No the hatches

In my experience 1 20mm HE and my SPAA is out of action, either the gunner or the gun is dead, usually both.

And WW2 era planes don’t get a real time location of enemy vehicles on their maps.

I guess the commander opening his hatch is just Hollywood fiction then?

Holy F-ing cope man.
The commander opening his hatch to look around is FAR more realistic then the pilot being towed by his plane… And yes, that did actually happen occasionally, but it involved the poor bastards parachute being tangled in the tail unit.

Ahh right, a vehicle we weren’t talking about to prove your point . . .

Adequate self diagnosis.

What’s the differance?

It’s literally just looking over the gun.
Hell the commander is modeled as looking over the gun on some of the SPAAs

Because their effective range against the air won’t allow them to fight the air in higher B.R.?

we have console players who cannot use the chat you know,
we have many people who dont all speak the same language

hence why air alert exists

so just play more cautiously? as soon as he fires once youll know where he is,

and if he hides behind a building then he loses view of a significant amount of the sky, which can be useful for him if he knows where the plane is but assuming the map isnt the average minecraft superflat world then there is terrain for the plane to hide as well

plus if it isnt a direct 1v1 like i said before you have a team, you can just wait for one of your teammate planes to get killed by him and then boom you know where he is

Are they actually locked out? or is that just the impracticality of trying to type a message on a virtual keyboard using a controler?

Another very good point.

Even in WW2 both anti air and fighter interceptors where directed onto target via radio, it’s one of the biggest advantages the USA had in the pacific, being able to use their carrier and ground based radars to vector CAP onto Japanese air raids long before they got to their targets.

not sure tbh

even that is enough of a reason for it

exactly, air alert can be a bit weird (like how you can kinda use it as a radar which is silly) but it is very good to have

OP you sit at KD of almost 14 in the thai albatros, i think it is safe to assume this post was made in bad faith as you want even less opposition when doung CAS runs.

I agree, I was just curious as to what the issue actually was.

I would put that down to Gaijins spotting system just being janked in general, like how you can have an enemy tank completely filling you sight/ binos and it doesn’t spot, other times you just look in the general direction of engine noise and spot them through half a city.
There are certainly bugs that people exploit that should be fixed, that doesn’t make the system “unrealistic” or a bad idea as pangolin is claiming.

NOOO!

After doing 1 kill/some assists/cap I should be invincible! I have earned it!

Some of the cold war SPAAs are also too good on the ground. Like these two US Vietnam era pieces. They have almost 80mm penetration, thats too much. Same for the Czech flakbus at 6.0 or something…100mm pen. The ZSU’s … Just match this with average armor of WW2 vehicles. Its crazy.
