…do we really have to provide primary sources to prove the PL-12 can hit planes that aren’t flying in a straight line?

According to the source, the PL-12 can achieve 38g at Mach 4 at an altitude of 6,000 meters, but the actual in‑game value is around 20g right now. The problem, however, is that with its insufficient thrust and excessive drag, the PL‑12 simply cannot reach Mach 4 when launched at 6,000 meters, so the claimed performance cannot be reproduced…

a combination of multiple factors such as drag and thrust but a good marker to show how truly badly modeled the missiles are in game is that PL-12 can not achieve the original SD-10 known Delta V of mach 3 or 1030 M/S and instead only reaches about 930 M/S for the in game model. the upgraded model can not achieve the known stats of the predecessor and because they dont accept sources for a variety of reasons that they feel are justified this info isnt considered valid. its quite ironic but what can you do about such things

Don’t worry it does get worse. You don’t even have to roll, just turn a bit and the missile misses. “Not a bug” mind you.

Current Pl-12/12A performs worse than Aim9j when it comes to tracking and pulling, its outrageous that some ‘‘devs’’ thought this was perfectly fine.

Another proof that Gaijin doesn’t even test nor play their games before making changes.

amraam pulled a lot more than pl12 before it was nerfed

Now all we need is for the AAM-4 to be axed as well so the only missiles at top tier are either French or Russian

Yeah, aim-120 went from being more maneuverable than r-77 to straight up the worst turning fox 3

and it only affects one nation, where amraam is in every tree but 2

Im with you that the amraam nerf is outrageous. But the pl12 nerf is worse. I get your point, but in oractice this is much more impactfull

the difference in before and after pull is less with the pl12 nerf

and it is only used by one tech tree vs every tech tree except 2

The pl12 cannot hit someone rolling or even pulling hard
