Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 1)

Dont need to. There is already a suggestion for the challenger 130 for British TT

And so is there for Germany? I don’t understand your point.

Where the Challenger 130 ends up is ultimately down to Gaijin.

But considering its a modified Challenger 2. The UK Tree is the most likely place for it to end up. If Germany gets it ONLY because they were the ones who modified it. Then Britain should have equal and valid claims to any and all vehicles that were worked on by companies like BAE.

For Example Spanish AV-8B+

The whole reason it’s vehicle worth adding is because they modified it.

But yes, in the end it’s Gaijin’s decision.

Wasn’t intended for Germany either

The mental gymnastics people are going through to get this put into Germany is funny. It’s a challenger 2 hull and a modified challenger 2 turret the one from the LEP specifically because it has the Orion thermal sight system on the roof. This challenger 2 is from the RBSL joint venture. It’s not a German tank it’s British it wouldn’t exist at all if it weren’t for the RBSL ( Rheinmetall BAE systems Land).

welcome to the state of german mains, where as soon as a non german vehicle has a german rwr- err i mean component, they think they deserve it

German mains, you can grind the British tree and enjoy the 130 mm Chally once it gets added, you aren’t forbidden to do that

Clearly we’ve so completely given up hope that the chally will be fixed that we’ve started arguing with german mains about who will get a one off tech demonstrator that was shown in a single promo video last year.

CR3 is designed with the 130mm upgrade potential.

If Germany get it, its because they cried enough to Gaijin and are so used to getting their own way.
Remember when they were getting Austrian versions of actual French tanks and then the Swedish USH because they stuck the turret on a Jadgpanzer hull.

SK-105 is not French…

Its more French than German, Austrian chassis, build by Steyr (Austrian company) equipped with a French oscillating turret

What’s German about it? The Nation that uses it? Austria is as close to Italy as it is to Germany

Not a French turret either…

Eh, more that rhinmetall designed 130 with compatibility with their 120mm mountings. Like how the L7 was designed to be drop in replaceable into 20pdr mountings. Doesn’t mean the Cent Mk.5 was “designed” for it.
The 130mm demonstrator still required modification from LEP spec anyway.

Cr2 130 argument is over. Open Cr2 thread ‘Cr2 130mm is…’. Mfw:
